June Hauls!

Post by 138 Scourge »

Ah, June in Kansas. Boiling hot, sweltery, and that nasty kind of sticky humid. Basically, going outside's like walking around in a bigass armpit. October can not come soon enough.

Anyway, headed out to TRU hunting for those clear-redeco exclusives they've got out, because I feel like I need the Sideswipe from that line. They didn't have it, but they did have Thundercracker, so screw it. I dunno, man, now I've got four of the movie Seekers, that's probably not a good sign. Now I'm gonna be wanting the other two, aren't I? Anyway, haven't fiddled with Thundercracker yet, but he looks pretty decent. The Mechtech weapons here seem like odd choices, keep half of the one that came with Starscream, swap the other half for a repaint of Roadbuster's chainsaw? Nothing against the saw, mind you, but it seems weird to do half of Starscream's when part of that gimmick is that it combines with the other half. Well, whatever. Chainsaw!

Also, the other day, picked up Terradive for seven bucks. I'm not in love with it, but it's not bad at all. It looks good in both modes, I like the color and the weapon, and the transformation's pretty clever and not frustrating or anything. His legs pop off pretty easily, but it's not that bad, and they're pretty stable, too. Honestly, I can't really say why I'm kind of ambivalent on this one.

I think I'm in possession of one of the lucky few Terradives whose legs stay on.

Anyway, a round of looking around town today netted me Cyberverse Skids, Mudflap, Sideswipe, Topspin, and Barricade. Yeah, damn Cyberverse has me wantin' to get all completist now. I'm gonna be friggin' set when the Ark comes out, though. It's gonna be standing-room-only on that spaceship!

The blue paint on Barricade looks *really* bad, practically knockoff quality. I'm pretty much going to have to redo it myself.

My Terradive's legs are fine...

Anyway, I deserve to be shot.

I bought Elita-1.

She was on clearance, though! Five bucks! That's...sort of justifiable...right?

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I might buy the Ark as custom fodder, in order to make a place to set up my Legends figures. (Of course, missing that last wave has kind of hurt my enthusiasm for the line.)

Check your local TJMaxx or Marshall's (if you have them). Reports are just now showing up about them turning up there. It's Godawful shopping, but you can't beat the prices.

Huh. Just when I thought I was out...

G.I. Joes. You know, I figured I was good. I've got a pretty impressive Cobra army, I didn't figure I needed any more. But then I found a new wave at Wal-Mart for three-fifty each, and, well, I'm a sucker.

So I bought another Cobra Trooper because what the hell. And I bought the Jungle B.A.T., which is amazing. It's basically the Busted-Ass B.A.T. variant that was in that Cobra Island box set, with the cracked chestplate and the busted-up faceplate. Only it's repainted to be in a jungle camo suit. And it's got just a ridiculous array of weapons, the regular B.A.T. stuff, plus a machete and what looks like Jesse Ventura's gatling gun from Predator. It's amazing. The Trooper ain't half-bad either, it comes with twin pistols, a rifle, and a bazooka. Looks to have a new head, too. And again, seven bucks for the pair, so why not?

Also, a pretty dope shirt. It's that kind of faded red, with Captain America's shield on it. Well, Fourth of July's coming up, so I could use a Captain America shirt.

I grabbed that Wal-Mart Cyberverse pack, with the Bumblebee and the Soundwave and the weird out-of-nowhere Rodimus. Bumblebee's metallics are nice and Rodimus' random-ass deco goes well for a random-ass pack-in figure (seriously, even the box doesn't know what Roddy is doing there; he's not mentioned anywhere on it), but yeah I was mainly buying this set so I'd have a Soundwave for my growing Cyberverse legion. And it turns out I really like that figure too. You don't see a lot of Legends figures with elbows, he's pretty cool.

Wal-Mart also had their wave of exclusive Deluxes in too, so I'll probably go back at some point for Deluxe Prime and the Sideswipe redeco (I'll admit, it's really just the Transtech Autobot symbols that make me want that thing).

Nice, glad to see those are coming out soon.

Game Boy Advance SP. Silver. In brand new shape. And the battleship/risk/clue game for GBA. Now to finally finish replacing the rest of the crap that was stolen from me.

Damn, I saw those the other day too, but they weren't 3.50, I don't think. That SKU must still be at clearance price from the last time Walmart carried Joes. You should have stocked up at that price, or hell, hook this brotha up! In fact, PM'ing you now...
