After a few years of hearing success stories from fellow internet TF fans. Regarding Clear nail polish being applied to TF toy joints & making the joints more tight/stiff. I had a loose hip socket Generations Thunderwing,so I applied a few layers of clear nail polish to the 2 hips ball sockets, let it dry for 2 days, then put the legs back on & now there super tight & no longer loose.
It was a bit awkward asking the women at the Dollar general store where the Clear nail polish was & which was the best for not cracking & being more permanent. I told the women,I hated crazy glue because it was so permanent & often makes a mess out of everything. I also told her,I wasn't using it on my nails but on a project of mine.
There was a few different Clear nail polishes to choose from. the First one was cheaply priced & seemed like the lowest quality. the second one was the most exspensive,in addittion to being clear nail polish it also had nail hardner in it. The 3rd one also had clear nail polish & nail hardner in it but it was cheaper priced & had a blue clear tint in it. I chose the second one, even though it was the most exspensive,it only cost $2.49,while the other 2 cost $1.00 each.
I took off the legs at the hip ball sockets, then applied a few thin coats of clear nail polish hardner to each hip ball socket with that little paint brush attached to the cap. instantly the ball sockets began to shine like wax being applied to a floor. Technically I could have waited only a few minutes/hours to put assemble everything back together,as this stuff dries super fast. I decided to wait 2 days because I figured the toy wasn't going anywhere. END RESULT A GENERATIONS THUNDERWING WITH TIGHT/STILL HIP BALL JOINTS/LEGS.
I consider myself a mild/medium level kitbashet/customizer. So i'll just ass Clear nail polish hardner to my list/skills.
I wish I would have used this nail poilsh hardner sooner. I really hated that some of my Beastmachines & Takara Car robots build team toys had such loose joints. applying clear nail polish harnder to these toys would have made the joints tighter/stiff. I woulnd up giving these toys away to younger relatives because they were so loose & frustrating to play with.
I used Clear nail polish to tighten joints on Thunderwing.

Easy way to solve this: Buy tampons with it, and a random food item. Explanation: Girlfriend's time of the month.
Or you could just...not worry about what other people think. I bought like four pairs of black pantyhose once. (I was cosplaying Rorschach and needed them for the mask.)

I love the idea that you think you'll get less weird looks/whatever from telling the staff you're buying nail polish to "substitute crazy glue on A Project," than just straight-up asking them what the best clear nail polish is. =p I guarantee you the woman you asked has seen way more men doing the latter.
EDITED FOR NO REASON HEY GUYS WHAT'S THAT OVER THERE
But anyway, it's true that this technique totally works, and I'm honestly surprised some enterprising fans haven't tried marketing overstocked nail polish as "TF joint tightener"... Anyone need to make a buck?

Delete that post now. If they find out our plan, they won't buy it.
