Saying that their are some serious Power Rangers grown up series created in the 20+ previous years IS SUGAR COATING THE TRUTH. because even the most So-Called-serious PR shows have villians that often act like clowns, incompetent stooges, not too bright, badly portrayed generic 1-D Persona crazy-juvenile acting villians.
Even the most so-called PR shows from the past have the power rangers acting like their in grammar school. Yeah,I've seen some power rangers shows where the power rangers are over the age of 18,but they never act like the way adults should. often times the Power rangers over 18,are not shown having any hints of sexual relationships. they are never shown drinking alchol, don't smoke Cigarettes,no tatoos,no piercings. Bandai-Usa often times knows kids are watching so they make the power rangers over 18 act like either fools, incompetents, shy, clowns,Clumsy, being afraid to kiss a girl or hold her hand, not having the confidence/courage to say "I like/love you,etc..
Bandai-USA will never create any PR shows or theathre movies with serious/mature villians like the way various Star trek shows have. Bandai-USA will never show any of the Power rangers cursing, ripping villians apart with their bare hands,no hints of sexual relationships,Power rangers kissing/holding hands the oppossite sex,etc....
Would a live action Voltron movie be decent or corny/cheesy?

It's not sugar coating the truth at all. It is a kids show first obviously, but some seasons have had a more mature tone than you seem to want to accept. Yes, they have had some stupid villains. But so does Transformers, yet you've said they've "always catered to multiple age groups". How is Power Rangers really any different? And being more mature doesn't mean it needs to have hints of sexual relationships, cursing or such graphic violence and so on, like you're suggesting. Something can have those elements in it yet be immature, albeit for different reasons. Claiming PR needs more violence is ironic, considering the show has gotten a lot of criticisms about the level of violence as it is. And there actually has been kissing on the show. I'd also point out you're completely wrong about the Rangers not having tattoos and piercings. A tattoo was a plot point for one of the Rangers in Lightspeed Rescue. And many of the actors, both men and women, have had piercings. You really need to look up what the truth of the show is first, before you start claiming it's sugar coated. It's certainly more mature than you seem to realize, based on what you've said about it here.Tigermegatron wrote:Saying that their are some serious Power Rangers grown up series created in the 20+ previous years IS SUGAR COATING THE TRUTH.
If this is how you view Power Rangers, why would you think they'd do a Voltron movie any differently? Both shows are pretty much along the lines of the same thing. Come to think of it, I've read that the creator of Voltron based on the idea on the Super Sentai series, which is the Power Rangers source material.

In a show? Probably not. But you know something? Ten years ago, I'd have said the exact same thing about Hasbro and Transformers, and yet Michael Bay takes the helm of the movies, and Roberts & Barber grab the comics by the horns and thrust all that shit right into the thick of it.Bandai-USA will never create any PR shows or theathre movies with serious/mature villians like the way various Star trek shows have. Also: Bandai doesn't own Power Rangers as a brand. Saban does. Bandai has a license to create toys for that brand--not the other way around. And right now, Saban is in a big-ass partnership with Nickelodeon, who are owned by Viacom, and, surprise! They also own TMNT right now. Which is being Michael Bayified.
(I also love how apparently a character has to either be super violent, curse a lot, murder people, or be super sexual in order to be an adult. Apparently there are no clean-cut characters in your universes.)

You're dealing with a retarded manchild here. He's never grown up so his idea of adulthood is probably based off the late night TV he could sneak a peek at when he was a (real) kid.Onslaught Six wrote:In a show? Probably not. There's nothing inherently cheesy about the Voltron concept, except maybe the giant robot lions. The tone of the movie would all depend on the direction and actors, just like any movie. If they play it straight, it could work.
