Picked up Generations Autobot Springer today at Wal Mart. Very nice character art, and I love the retro grid/tech spec look of the packaging, and that's before I've even opened it up to enjoy the figure!

Box from Amazon came in the other day: Kisses, Sighs, and Cherry Blossom Pink Omnibus, because lesbians, and Generations Blitzwing, because he was, uh, available on Amazon, and I didn't wanna sweat trying to find him in stores. Every bad thing you've heard about his shoulders is true, but the rest of the toy is pretty damn neat. I got lucky, the face on mine rotated easily straight out of the box. Overall the whole thing feels like it was designed as carefully as Springer was, but wasn't polished quite as long, and didn't take the currently-variable QC as into account as it should have. Still a pretty great Blitzwing figure, but with a few glaring flaws holding it back (more than the shoulder mechanism itself, the paint on the upper arms is a really terrible idea), as well as having the unfortunate luck of having to be compared to Springer, who really might be the best TF released this year.

Finally found TFP Hun-Gurrr (is that how we're spelling it now?) at Target yesterday. Kinda lame that Twinstrike, one of his limbs, is bigger, more complex, and just a generally more impressive toy all-around, but Hun-Gurrr's not bad as far as Legends go. I like the beast feet becoming Wolverine-claws in robot mode, and he has one of the coolest little weapons I've seen a Legends-class dude come with in a long time. Hopefully I'll find the other Terrorcons as they come out; if they're at least as good as Hun-Gurrr here with some being at Twinstrike's level, they should be a decently fun bunch of dudes.

Generations Air Raid, who is clearly Fireflight, but also I don't care. Body does a good job pretending not to be Shockwave thanks to the very different deco. The colors look snazzy if a bit dark for an Autobot. Weapons are alright, the gun's bayonet blade is way overkill though. The combined sword looks alright, the cardback shows the twin-barreled gun in it as well but that doesn't help whatsoever. Not a must-have set but not a bad buy during downtime for $13.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

He was going to be Fireflight, but trademarks happened.

I got some stuff for a late birthday gift from a friend:

-GI Joe POC Cobra Deviant. This was the big mech from the POC line. I think these were retooled from the Sigma Six 2.5" line or something, but I didn't follow it so I don't know. Not a bad little mech--suffers a little from not having any actual guns on it, but it's apparently interchangable with the Joe mech that was released at the same time. Unfortunately, that's prohibitively expensive on the secondary market (as is this--my friend lucked out when it popped up on Amazon for $12 and shipping) so it looks like I'll just be sticking with this. It could also use a little more leg articulation--it has hips and the feet are on ball joints, but the legs are TF Movie insect-style, so they could've used one more point in the knees. Still, it doesn't have much problem standing, which is cool. The pilot's alright--a mishmash of ROC Neo-Viper parts and 25th Zartan parts, with some underused webgear (that I've already swapped out to give to someone else--my primary motivation in wanting the figure!) and a black Wild Weasel head. Given that I don't actually own Wild Weasel in any form, this guy will probably stand in for him for a while coming.
Bonus points: The mech looks like ED-209 from Robocop, at least superficially!
-Assault on Precinct 13 DVD. The 1975 original! A great slow burn shoot-out movie, one of Carpenter's earliest and better works. Keeps the tension the whole way through, and has a great soundtrack. A little light on the bonus stuff, but I assume there's just not that much stuff around for this. At least it's got commentary! (No subtitles, though, for some fucking reason. Weird.)

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Yes, definitely, but as I said, "also I don't care" ;) I'm not attached to Fireflight over Air Raid whatsoever.

Nice get! Yes, it is retooled from the Sigma Six version. It should have guns at the nose of the cockpit, I think.

Yeah, a little bit. I guess I was expecting...you know, Transformers level weaponry. You get a TF of this size and they'll usually have at least one or two big honkin' cannons or missile launchers.

Haul:

1x Nissan Maxima GLE, 2000, not mint in box. It looks like a standard box sedan car, but holy crap it has the zooms, I accidentally delivered some wheelspin on a green light bringing it home. It really might have too much horsepower for a FWD, giving it the beans produces light torquesteer. It also has AC.

I hear ya. Still, it has a laser gun on the right arm too, doesn't it? And if you want more, none of the Sigma Six 2.5" vehicles sold well, you could just buy them and cannibalize their weapons since they're interchangeable.

There's a big flat bit that 'looks' like it should be a laser cannon or something, but it's sculpted so poorly that it's hard to tell. I hadn't thought of finding one of the S6 mechs and cannibalizing them, though!

A pair of tires for the car.

IWell, they were MADE to have interchangeable parts. Come to think of it, it's not only the mechs, I think all the 2.5" vehicles had interchangeable parts, I have a number of them... somewhere, they use 2 uniform plug sizes.
