The Headmaster Process

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!

...Really though, are heads that important for TFs? Where do they see out of in vehicle mode?

All questions asked by your jerky friend who's trying to get a rise out of you. ;p True though!

Headlights. You saw that Ladybird book with Cliffjumper and Megs's evil demon car.

You're right! And don't forget that they can "simply download their memory into the auxiliary circuits in their chests"!

Which makes me wonder about TFs that have headlights in, say, their feet in robot mode. Can Bumblebee see out of his feet?

If the Headmaster process works more like the comics, where the smaller partner becomes the larger head, and basically gives the main robot two brains worth of processing power, then it sort of makes sense. But I can't see how the human/Nebulan riding around inside of and piloting the head is going to do any Transformer even a little bit of good. It'd be like trying to fight regular people with a giant marionette. Which actually, now I want to see a movie about Kung-Fu Puppets.

Was it the DW profile books that said something about Brisko's cartography skills and photographic memory improving Fangry's tracking ability? That's a good use of the Headmaster thing right there.

Now, how make sense out of the Powermaster or Targetmaster processes?

Oh, I'll be posting THOSE topics later in the week. =p

I like things like the Brisko + Fangry example, or Lug's coolheadedness making Hosehead worry less, and *especially* Arcana's line in The Rebirth that Brainstorm's "mind is undisciplined, but I find his youthful ideas most.. refreshing". That's a badass old guy.

Buuuuut the question is HOW this dialoguing takes place. Are the Nebulans jacked directly into the TFs' neural cluster?? YEAH I CAN TECHNOBABBLE.

I imagine it like "diving" from Ghost in the Shell. Sensory deprivation, two bodies working in concert. Always thought the Headmaster Nebulans should've had their eyes obscured, at least. Naturally, the Nebulans can't remain connected in vehicle mode because their bodies can't bend like the TFs' can (really, there's no other in-universe reason why they have to detach for transformation). =3

Powermasters are used as an extra energy source for added general kickassery. And if you die, your mind gets transferred to them!
