So I've been having a big clear-out, and I found something of a prized possession from long, long ago~
WHAT'S IN IT?
Probably a bunch of old Transformers guff of the non-toy-or-comic variety. Hooray! Anyway, I'll be taking a look through it in this thread (editing posts frequently to reveal more). JOIN ME!
Why it IS full of old Transformers guff!

Heh, but there are some comics in there.
Joking aside, some of that looks like UK exclusive pack-in material.
Dom
-will anything top the trilingual explosions of the "Armada" pack-ins?

Right you are, Dom! Well, I can assure you that the contents will get more interesting- and occasionally weird- as we go on.
Yeah yeah, BW2 catalogue, that's nothing we haven't seen before.
But still, GIGASTOOOOOMU! Love that guy.
Ah, now, this is more like it! ...Who IS that guy behind Thunderclash?
Ah, it's Fearswoop! Heh, Trakkons and Lightformers. Ridonculous. But hey, check out Ironfist in the corner! I always wanted him.
Incidentally, sorry for the bad framing and all that, I wasn't in the most photo-friendly environment. Also it turns out Iris West and I have something in common, as it took me a while for me to work out how to turn the flash off.

Ah, unaffordable UK toys. Damn "Last Stand of the Wreckers" for even putting those on my radar.

(I'd just like to point out, kind of as a disclaimer or whatever, all this stuff is actually from my *childhood*, at least up to high school, and not just bought online as an adult. With obvious exceptions; The Beast Within was a pack-in with some DVD boxset or other, Armada minicomics came with recent birthday presents, etc etc.)
...Yeah, I never really got many of the G1.5 guys, as I was juuuust going off TF then. Definitely have Pyro and Hurricane, maybe a couple others...
This next one's one of my favourites. Stay tuned!

Nice. I like this folder so far.
I had a similar one, back in the day. I'd glued a buch of tech specs to the inner covers and had the catalogs and the like stored in it. Said folder was also a cool TF folder that had toy-model Jazz and Starscream battling it out. Good stuff.
Anyway, I dig the wonders coming out of here. Looking forward to more.

The BATTLE STATIONS catalogue actually features a simple narrative, using it as a framing device to set up the sections on each sub-team. Each page contains a simple puzzle used to further this narrative, and if you solve all of them, you win A PRIZE! Cool. One puzzle in particular is amusing:

s
The crystal.. megatron..? How could they not double-take on that one?? I guess it's, like, one of Megatron's kidney stones or something.
Hahahaha the UNSTOPPABLE Rescue Team. A.K.A. non-combining Breastforce without their Breastars, leaving huge gaping wholes on "Leozak" and "Drillhorn" in particular. I can specifically remember passing these guys up as an eight year-old. X] Gotta love Killbison's transformation into a "claw tank", though.
*SEVEN* enemy dead?! What is this, the TFTM of toy catalogues? Yikes.
Aaaaah THAT's where those tech specs got to. Why did they start making them such an awkward shape for G1.5? They don't fit with all my old ones! Also gotta love the awful mottos they had then. "The Decepticons are really really really really really really bad, and we have to stop them." Despite Hurricane's tech spec maintaining that he's "super intelligent", the bar chart says different. Internal contradictions!

Very nice. I didn't even know these guys existed until I got back into collecting. I quit buying Transformers around the time the Pretenders showed up in stores, and didn't get back in until Transmetals were on store shelves. I missed all of these figures along with G2.

So now we're onto the '89/'90 stuff, when the UK got a bunch of gutted Victory toys, as well as a surprising amount of '85/'86 reissues. But... what the the pit happened to this catalogue?
I.. guess I cut First Aid 'cos I used to like the shape of ambulances. Huh. But why's everything black on the next page?
Hahaha, check out Fake Bruticus. I get Superion's fists and feet, but where did that head and breastplate come from?? I've got an original G1 Bruticus right across from me, and that ain't him.
....Huh. I guess I'd just gotten my first marker pen. And apparently disapproved of the Autobot Pretender Classics! >_> Moving on...
Yeahhhh the MOTORVATOR. Remember them? No? Well they're just the Brainmasters without the ability to combine! Hooray! And I handily linked their names to each of them, apparently because I didn't think I'd remember which was which.
But never mind that shit, here comes OVERLORD! Now this is a guy I actually have. Marker pen runs wild again though, as I apparently didn't think Giga should exist. Check out the tank's cockpit.
I.... uh....... let's move on. O_o (Although, check out the cheeky Devastator peering out from the left edge of the page. He gradually gets bigger on each one, like a flipbook.)
...And finish on a HIP note! OMEGA SPREEEEEEM almost entirely mistransformed.
Nächste Mal, wir gehen nach Deutschland! =o

Damn. Did the Decepticons from that year even have 7 troops they could afford to lose?
Dom
-wants Overlord.
