Generations shown off recently, do you care?

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Generations shown off recently, do you care?

Post by JediTricks »

Do we not care anymore about new TFs, is that why we're not already talking about these?

Kickback

Bumblebee (legends)

Gnaw

Alpha Trion

Voyager Megs

Voyager OP

Six Shot

Trypticon

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I'm in for Kickback, Gnaw, Alpha Trion, Sixshot and Trypticon. I already have a Legends scale Bumblebee was well as Voyager Megatron and Prime. Pics look good though.

Thanks for posting.

I'm definitely down for Kickback, tho it'll be weird having all 3 Insecticons in Generations and each one is a different aesthetic :P

That BB looks alright, I might get him.

I don't know about most of the rest yet.

You're welcome! :D I probably would have posted sooner, but I've just been busy and I've also had a review of the entire Titans Return line so far that I still haven't finished yet. I do like the look of the new Bumblebee, but I already have one in that scale (sorta. It's not the RTS version, but the one after it. Not the one that came with the helicopter though). I dunno, this one looks better, I might get it. Kickback is close enough in aesthetic that I think all three will look fine next to each other. As for Megatron, It definitely looks better than Henkei Megatron (my current voyager) but I still have and like the Henkei one and I'm not sure I need a Headmaster Megatron. Also, I might be in for some of the RID15 toys. Some of those are actually looking pretty good.

I dunno. I saw some "Generations" figures yesterday. (They guy at the local hobby shop had some.) The new figures seem better than "Combiner Wars" figures, by virtue of having more moving parts and articulation. But, TF as a whole has not impressed me for 2+ years now.

I would be more excited about Kickback if I had not already sold off my Shrapnel.

I'm just not collecting a lot of TFs these days. I saw Blurr, thought "that's a great update, I should get that". But I wasn't really motivated, and never did. Maybe if the fiction was drawing me in I'd be more inclined to buy the accompanying figures, but IDW's comics just don't do anything for me any more.

It's strange, because there were plenty of times years ago when I'd have absolutely loved updates of classic characters like we're getting now. And I did get quite a few of the Generations remakes. I guess I just hit the saturation point. That and the $15 price tag.
