MP Grimlock confirmed, photos!

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!
Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

MP Grimlock confirmed, photos!

Post by JediTricks »

Check the news lately? Sparky posted news of confirmation on MP Grimlock, and then a link to an actual photo! http://www.tfviews.com/news/toysandcollectibles/134

Price is $135 in Japanese Yen (though with the American dollar right now, who knows what it'll be worth by the time of its release). You can see he's got his sword and his crown.

I have to say I'm a little "eh" about the forearms in bot mode, there's nothing "masterpiece" about that layout, but they NAILED this figure's look overall. And in Q&A, Hasbro confirmed they're working on getting some new Masterpiece out in the US next year, hopefully it's this.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I'm hoping the dino-claws can fold back onto his forearms, and it does look like they can. Looks like one awesome Masterpiece figure to me. Price tag is also a bit hefty but looks like Grimlock might be worth it. Still, hopefully Hasbro will release this one to help cut down on some of that cost...

No way I can afford the Japanese version, but I'll definitely score it if it comes out over here.
I disappear.

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod...

That's just amazing. And he'll be huge, as well?

Wow.

EDIT: Going back to look at MasterGrims again, I see...Mickeymousetimus Prime? Oookay.

And "Fairlady Z Megatron"? Sounds cool, but Prowl's gonna be pissed. (The character, not our Prowl..)

And pics of 25th Dinobot (or the Henkei repaint) and Hot Shot (unpainted). Hooray!

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Blurb reportedly says:
"Ultimate Valour" To be true to his character setting, "a Transformer created by a Transformer", rivets are applied all over his body. He has "Waiter Mode" included and he comes with "brainwave transport" device. He can strike dinosaur-like poses as desired. His right fist contains LED light to light up his gun and sword. Both Dino and robot mode can change eye colours. Diecast is partly used.
I was hopeful MasterGrims would be more like the snazzy statue version or the G2 comics version than the tubby ShowGrims, but by the sounds of things he can be posed in an anatomically correct fashion ala ClaGrims, so that'll help. Definitely stoked with the idea that his eyes can change colours, mine will be displayed with red eyes. Red eyed Grims definitely wins.

Also, Yay Laser Rods.

All I can think is "it costs WHAT?"

Yikes. Yeah, it's a cool figure, but I could never justify spending that much for a toy. Hopefully a US release for half the price or less is in the works, or I'll have to pass on this one.

Sadly, from the design sketch photos out there, it appears he was designed so they can't fold back, that was what I was hoping for as well.

He has the crown from the comics, heh! Ten points for that. Shame there's no gun or launcher, though, that would've been well nifty.
