More new Generations figures coming
The cover of the next Transformers Collectors Club issue has been revealed, showing us the first look at a new Generations Rattrap (pre-Transmetal) figure. The issue is also expected to reveal 3 other new Generations figures.

Re: More new Generations figures coming
Hm. I dunno. I mean, I guess the original Rattrap was more in need of an update and all, but I still would've rather seen an updated Transmetal version just because I like that variety of Rattrap better. Looks okay either way, I guess.
Really I was hoping for a Beast Machines Rattrap, even though I knew full well that was never gonna happen ever.

Re: More new Generations figures coming
I read this info & saw the pic hours ago. I must say,I am impressed with the high sculpt this figure is sporting. This is definately one of Hasbro's better Transformers toys.
There was a 2014 Generations leaked list that was floating around the internet weeks ago. some of the 2014 Generations deluxes are as follows: Arcee,Chromia,Jhiaxus,Hardhead,Tank??,Crosscut,Nightbeat,Rattrap & Tankor.
Most suspect 30th deluxe Arcee will be a new mold that gets shared with Chromia. Hardhead will use the Generations deluxe warpath mold. Jhiaxus is probably going to be based of the IDW version & it will use a new mold. Nightbeat & crosscut will either use the same new mold or borrow molds from bumblebee or another car-bot. Tankor will probably be a new mold.
The 2014 leaked list of 30th generations voyagers are: Brainstorm,Roadbuster & Skybyte. I'm thinking voyager 30th Skybyte will be using the Transformers go shark-bot voyager mold. Brainstorm & roadbuster will probably use newer molds, with other characters using the mold via a repaint/maybe remold assortment waves later.
The leaked list of 30th Generations leader sized toys is as follows: Megatron & Jetfire. if these are new molds,Then I'd love to see the newer 2014 War within looking body with more 1984 designs megatron sports in the 2014 IDW TF comics. As far as Jetfire,I'd be happy with upscaled higher sculpted version of his 1.0 voyager toy in the bigger leader size scale.

The other Three figures will be Deluxe Tankor,Deuxe Nightbeat & Deluxe Cross-cut. This info was revealed months ago on various top 5 TF web sites with forums.Sparky Prime wrote:The cover of the next Transformers Collectors Club issue has been revealed, showing us the first look at a new Generations Rattrap (pre-Transmetal) figure. Many suspect 30th Nightbeat & cross-cut will share a new mold between them. or use other characters molds from bumblebee & other sports car-bots. Tankor will most likely get a new mold, whom he'll no doubt share later on with a tank drone or another newer persona character via a repaint/remold.

It's certainly a strong possibility, since those figures are said to be part of the 5th wave together, although there was also list of upcoming figures that got out some time ago as well.Tigermegatron wrote:The other Three figures will be Deluxe Tankor,Deuxe Nightbeat & Deluxe Cross-cut. If they made a Transmetal version of Rattrap, that doesn't mean it'd turn out like Cheetor 2.0 and Dinobot 2.0 did (though Dinobot, while not great, I wouldn't say was that bad either). I mean, the much more recent Generations Rhinox looks great, as does this new version of Rattrap. And there are a few things they could do to make a TM Rattrap more accurate to the cartoon. Like his backpack being able to rotate around so the back wheels/paws are behind his head rather than the front. New sculpt might also allow them to make it so the back wheel hubcaps could be removable to use as a shield like he does in the show, and come with a gun like he has in the show.Does anyone want to really see the imagining horror again that was 2.0 cheetor & 2.0 Dinobot only this time done with 30th TM Rattrap,No thanks. There is need to give TM Ratrrap another newer mold,The TM version was already super poseable, beautifully Highly sculpted & CGI accurate toy. I'd rather see all the limited 30th toy slots be used wisely for older toys characters that never received a homage new mold or got a really horrible first original mold.
That said, I really could go for either version of Rattrap. I think both of the original molds were great, but both could use a bit of updating as well to make them even better. As it is, I really like the amount of detail they've put into this figure and how show accurate it looks compared to the original. Although it looks like they put his Maximal symbol on his leg rather than on his forearms. Which is odd considering the attention to detail in having the forearms open up like they did in the show for his bombs. Ah well. This is an amazing looking figure regardless. I'm glad Hasbro is finally doing some great updates to the Beast Wars characters.

I wasn't a fan of the transmetals. I've always been of the opinion that transformers should be robots in disguise and being a giant chrome rat with wheels ain't foolin' nobody.

But a giant otherwise normal looking rat would? Not every Transformers series uses the alternative modes as disguises...Almighty Unicron wrote:I wasn't a fan of the transmetals. Besides, the Transmetals were an accidental mutation.

At least with the Transmetals, the seams made sense. I never thought any of the normal beast alt modes were very convincing.

You've never seen a New York City rat.Sparky Prime wrote:But a giant otherwise normal looking rat would? Also, before the show I always assumed that the Beast Wars size-shifted like G1 Megs turning into a gun.

Re: More new Generations figures coming
That is true, but I think Rattrap would still be pushing the boundaries of what size even those rats can be. Not to mention other beast modes like Waspinator or Inferno...Almighty Unicron wrote:You've never seen a New York City rat.
That certainly would be the only way some of the beast modes could be realistically used as disguises. But even then, you still have the problem of some having extinct animal forms.... But anyway, I always wondered why none of the Beast Wars media seemed to show them mass shifting like that since G1 had that ability. Even the pack-in comic that came with Bat Primal and Croc Megatron as I recall didn't show any mass shifting. Also, before the show I always assumed that the Beast Wars size-shifted like G1 Megs turning into a gun.
