First Look at Platinum Edition Grimlock?

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

It's still debatable if this is the platinum edition or CNY Or Both or whatever. either whay it's colored a bit better than the Hasbro USA retail version. The vacumized gold chrome really makes this toy look more rich/higher end collectible.

my 2 cents: While I love the gold chrome parts on the toy. I was kinda hoping they'd be more gold chome parts like the feet/hands on the beast/bot & the gold chrome on the beast tail panels.

Due to the sporadic gold chrome, this almost seems like a Takara Henkei release.

Either way,I'm speculating this will be a USA Amazon.com & BBTS.com shared exclusive similar to Platinum edition omega supreme was.

HOPEFULLY we'll see on-line pics of platinum Bruticus surface soon. I'm hoping the combaticons/bruticus are in their G-1 1985 toy colors. I'm desperately hoping Vortex in this set is color medium/dark grey with black other parts. It would be nice to see onslaught in his 1985 colors of blue-green with gold painted on stickers. while blastoff is colored chocloate brown with purple & black parts. brawls colors from the SDCC version is the colors I want in this set. Swindle's colors in the FOC set were almost perfect, just add a bit more yelow tiny in the colors with a added shinny gloss added.

This really has no business being a thing in a world where Masterpiece Grimlock exists. Especially given how mediocre the toy itself reportedly is.

MP Grimlock is Leader sized & far too huge to fit into the size scale of TF toys in the Classics/Generations toy line. Having MP Grimlock being two assortment sizes bigger than Classics 1.0 Voyager Optimus & Megatron JUST SEEMS WRONG.

For now,FOC Grimlock is the only newer Grimlock toy released within a 10 year time span that fits into the size scale & design style of the Classics/Generations. As both classics 1.0 Optimus & Megatron are voyager sized.

Unless of course you're one of those people (like me) who, based on some portrayals in the cartoon and comics, feels that Grimlock is *supposed* to be a huger guy than everyone else, and think that the MP toy conveys that nicely with the Voyager leaders and other dudes.

But eh, dif'rent strokes.

I'm expecting to see Platinum edition grimlock verse bruticus at botcon this year. As hasbro has a built up habit of showing off TF store exclusive at Botcon. Hopefully the combaticons/bruticus will be in G-1 toy colors with Vortex being grey.
