I can't imagine why any adult male would want to fork over $714.99 for this thing. it literally looks like a piece of garbage. even though the price tag says $714.99,the thing looks like it cost under $50 to make. wearing this thing outside in public would be embarrassing.

To make matters worse their is a whole following for this sort of thing with other super hero/villian type jackets.

Pretty sure adult females might buy it too. And I'm afraid if you're bothered by people expressing their love for their favourite franchises in the things they wear then you'll probably want to stop going outside at all; it's only going to get 'worse'!

As someone who used to cosplay- and made some good friends doing it- I'm not down with this idea of being embarrassed about expressing yourself through dress. It does make me curious as to what the average Tigs outfit looks like?? The mind boggles. =p

I have nothing against fans boys expressing their love of fiction through toys/comics/mechandise. When I said "Epic ridiculous",I was more referring to the insanely high price tag. I just think these companies are taking advantage of fans boys. Clearly these things don't cost $714.99 to create. My speculation is that these barely cost under $70 in materials to create. Since these are based off liscensed products,my guess is these companies pay a large amount to the liscense companies,which they off-set to the buyers by charging them thru the nose for these things.

As far as jackets go,that's all I own are leather jackets. on average leather jackets that are in my local stores cost around $300 & under. I'm cheap,So I often buy them on super clearance for under $140.

I'm sorry,their is no way in hell,those leather jackets in those BBTS.com links I provided in this thread,are made out 100% leather. those fans boys leather jackets probably barely have 25% in leather materials on the outside of the jacket,while the rest of the outside jacket is dominated by cheaply priced materials such as plastic,polyester,cotton & so forth.

Sorry,for $714.99,I could buy a long leather jacket that neal wore in the matrix movie,I'd even wager those cost under $600.

Shockwave's right, high-end clothes are just expensive. I had to go shopping for a suit-jacket a couple months back, and a lot of the mid-level ones *start* at $600. This is not an out-of-the-ordinary price.

This reminds me, a while back on my Facebook page I posted a link to Bandai's fashion webshop, where you can buy a reproduction of the completely insane jacket worn by Utsusemimaru in Jyuden Sentai Kyoryuger for, yep, about $600. So yeah, there's clearly precedent.

Alternatively: EXTRY EXTRY, READ ALL ABOUT IT! NICHE SPECIALTY CLOTHING ITEMS ARE OVERPRICED!!

Anyway, I had a leather jacket back in high school and I recall it being quite expensive (hundreds of dollars). I don't recall it costing anywhere near SEVEN hundred though, so yeah, I'll agree that it's a ridiculous price tag for just a leather jacket.

However... if one were to use it as the basis for a costume, I've seen screen accurate Stormtrooper costumes go for in the thousands.

I find this hilarious because a running joke in a variety of LucasArts adventure games is the line "I'm selling these fine leather jackets"- starting with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (where Indy at least WEARS a fine leather jacket) and then continues into the Pirate-themed Monkey Island games, with nary a leather jacket in sight.


EDIT: I should also mention that when I worked at Blizzard I made a buddy with someone in the merch department who could get me some severely overpriced nerd clothes for free. I think I increased my wardrobe by like 33% on what would have otherwise been t-shirts that went for $40 a pop.

Prowl,Did you click on the BBTS.com links I provided in this thread? BECAUSE THE jackets being sold are not anywhere near HIGH-END clothes,Their more in the league of "nerd fans boys OCD UNDER ROOS type costume/role play fantasy clothes. That Boba Fett jacket on the plastic square chest plate looks like a few birds took a few white poops on it----> I hardly call this high-end type clothes.

Now if we were talking about finding a real leather jacket that was super long & looked like Neo's Matrix movie leather jacket,I'D CONSIDER THIS HIGER-END QUALITY TYPE CLOTHES.
