Generations Blitzwing video,Finally shows fans the 3rd face.

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Generations Blitzwing video,Finally shows fans the 3rd face

I won't give any spoilers away what the 3rd "up until now" un-seen face is. I'll make it a surprise for everyone that clicks on the link & watches the You-tube blitzwing review viedo link above.

I'm most likely going to opt to use the G-1 styled face sculpt,As i'm a G-1 purist fan.

Not sure I'm into the split-personality-faces being Blitzwing's "thing" now, but whatever, I liked Man-E-Faces back in the day.

Can't say I'm at all surprised. After all, there has only been one version of Blitzwing to feature a face-switching gimmick like this before.

Can't say I'm really a fan of the face switching myself, but I guess it's a nice option for fans of that version of Blitzwing.

Screw it, I don't feel like watching the video. So it's basically Animated Blitzwing's faces? Eh, I'm okay with it.

EDIT: Wait, why is this in "Prime"?

I think the multiple faces worked better for TFA Blitzwing. due to that character being low on intelligence,a psychopath & having Schizophrenia multiple personalities disorder.

I don't think the Multiple faces makes sense for this generations toy because it's loosely based of the G-1 toy/media designs/persona
Season 2 blitzwing never portrayed any symtoms of crazy/psychopath/Schizophrenia behavioral traits. Especially not the season 3 persona that had evolved into a more competent soldier in both intelligence & moral responsibilty.

Blitzwing was supposed to have Octane's whole character arc in the third season, too, mind you.

Anyway, I don't think it's necessary for a character to stay exactly the same forever. If a later cartoon gave Blitzwing a personality that's more entertaining than his G1 one (which he didn't really, uh, have one) then by all means, incorporate that into other versions as well.

Besides, Hasbro's whole "30th" initiative seems like it's focused on promoting IDW and the designs from the comics (which is a weird thing to primarily focus on, but whatever) and Blitzwing (or a Blitzwing-esque guy?) showed up in the background of Lockdown's squad in Spotlight: Trailcutter recently--a comic which is going to be with the new Trailcutter toy, which will be on shelves at about the same time as Blitzwing. There's a crazy amount of crosspromotion going on there!

(I also noticed that Spotlight: Hoist has Metroplex on the cover, and will probably involve him somehow. Good job, Hasbro!)

That's my bad, actually. It only works if you put the URL there without quotes--which is weird, because if you want to quote somebody, you have to put quotes around their name. [quote=G] doesn't work but

Code: Select all

[quote="G"]
will.

Thread moved to correct forum.

Yeah, that is a weird thing about this forums software requiring quotes in one place and breaking them in the other.

Why is anybody surprised by the faces on this figure? Only surprise is the vertical rotation over horizontal.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I don't see a problem with the multiple faces gimmick. I'll just pretend it only has one face & just use the G-1 face.

I think the trio faces is a great gimmick to keep the kiddies busy.

I don't mind the trio faces changeable gimmick on Generations Blitzwing,Because it doesn't look like the trio faces gimmick caused any compromises on the outer head sculpt.

CLEARLY the duo multiple faces changeable gimmick RUINED THE MP RODIMUS PRIME HEAD SCULPT,Espcially how awful the outer helmet looks as a direct result of the multiple change heads gimmick.
