Puzzled why the DOTM movies isn't on premium cable channels.

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Puzzled why the DOTM movies isn't on premium cable channels.

Puzzled why the DOTM movies isn't on premium cable/dish/satelite movie channels.

It's puzzling why because every other 2011 movie that was in theathres that year, has appeared on those Premium cable/dish/satelite movie channels. With a DOTM Movie that did so well in Theathre sales in the USA & World wide,it's just weird it hasn't aired on those premium cable/dish/satelite movie channels yet.

My running theories are as follows:
1- Due to all the Imax 3D scenes the movie is un-watachable in non 3D. Perhaps due to the extreme IMAX 3D it was unable to go thru the reformated for TV Process.

1a- I noticed my non-3D DOTM DVD version was un-watchable & it was extremely harder to make out all the IMAX CGI scenes in the movie. I originally saw this DOTM Movie in a 3D IMAX theathre.

2- Perhaps Hasbro is preventing the Premium cable/dish/satelite movie channels from airing the DOTM Movie. Because Hasbro wants to have exclusive airing rights on their hub network.

If you have any theories why the DOTM movie hasn't yet aired on the premium cable/dish/satelite movie channels yet, please post them.

My dvd works just fine. Also, it already was on cable, I have Comcast and remember that it was OnDemand at the same time it came out on video. They've obviously removed it to make room for other newer movies.

OnDemand & Premium movie cable/dish/satelite channels are 2 totally different things.

OnDemand,on top of your cable/dish/satelite plan,if you want to watch a movie, you are expected to pay a additional $4+/maybe lower or higher depending on the movie being requested.

OnDemand is often dubbed the cable video rental store,as viewers rent a onDemand movie & often are allowed to view it & re-view it until the 24 hours time frame expires, sometimes more but most of the time not. OnDemand movies gets less of a audience as it's more exspensive.

Premium cable/satelite/dish movie channels are free to viewers who have a higher money package plan, that includes premium movie channels like HBO,SHOTIME,Cinnemax,etc...

Premium cable/satelite/dish movie channels get seen by more that OnDemand,as it's on a package payment plan.

Ohhh... ok. Sorry, I thought you were just asking about cable in general I didn't understand that you were limiting to just the premium channels. In which case, I dunno. I do have Showtime but I've only had that since September so I don't know if they were showing it before that. And I usually don't even watch Showtime, partially because I primarily added it to watch Dexter and... well... mostly I kinda forget that it's available

I wonder if maybe it hasn't been on premium channels yet because Comcast OnDemand cable wanted to make their money on rentals before it goes to the premium channels. I know sometimes there are contractual agreements with studios and cable/dvd companies to stagger their release dates to maximize profits. At least it did when I worked at Blockbuster but I will admit that was 14 years ago so things may have changed since then.

Paramount chose to stream the movie on a pay basis directly from their website rather than sell pay cable rights for that early window. They sold commercial TV premiere rights to FX as evidence by this weekend's premiere of it, and they licensed streaming rights to Netflix which is why I finally watched it when I was sick last week (awful movie, horrible ending).

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Are you sure the FX channel has TF Dark of the moon this Last weekend or this weekend? Because the FX channel is currently showing TF revenge of the fallen this weekend.

I haven't seen any commericials on the FX cannel with them advertising the TF Dark of the movie future airing dates.

It doesn't make any sense why the FX channel would get the premiere airing rights before the premium movie cable channels like HBO,Showtime,Cinnemax,etc... Because the FX channel is a few grades below premium movie cable channels.

Usually the lower grade movie channels like FX get premier movie rights a few years after the premium movie channels get them.

I was mistaken, it's actually late 2013 for the FX cable premiere.

I just explained why it went down that way.

Dark of the Moon has been on the EPIX movie channel, which is premium movie channel similar to channels like HBO, Starz and so on. And as JediTricks said, FX has the rights to premier DOTM for regular television.

There you have it then! I didn't realize because they never released a press release to come up in my research, and I don't think we have Epix advertising here on Time Warner.

I did a quick WIKI research on the EPIX Channel. On the EPIX WIKI page it refers to the EPIX channel as a fusion/combination of EPIX ON-Demand & EPIX Premium movie channel. So based off this the Dark of the moon movie could have appeared on the Epix On-Demand/PAY Per view & not the EPIX Premium movie channel. I just find it out that the EPIX Movie premium channel would get airing rights for DOTM instead of the more popular HBO,SHOTIME,Cinnemax premium movie channels.

I need some proof with links that this DOTM Movie has already appeared on the EPIX Premium movie channel. Until then I don't believe it. My guess is the DOTM Movie appeared on the EPIX on-demand/pay perview channel.
