April Hauls

Post by Shockwave »

Ok, it's universally known that I have no budget for anything so I find it somewhat ironic that I'm the one starting the hauls thread this month.

Anyway... A small box of awesome from Dom came in today. Universe Prowl. I was told the paint was bad enough to make virtually worthless (hence the reason I'd be able to keep it) but the only real flaw it has is the lack of gun. There were also two minicons included, one of which I can't transform. Also, PVC Megatron with the mace and Optimus with the axe. It's funny that Dom picked those because I had them, but recently sold them when I sold my lot of PVC figures. When I was lining them up, I remember wishing I could hang onto those two and... tadadada! Here's Dom to the rescue!

Legit sorry about the gun. I did not know that I had left it out. But, if that keeps it "legal", then hey....

Still, Prowl has his shoulder launchers and a keen tactical acumen. So, why does he really need a side arm, right? Uh,.....

Seriously, sorry about that.

Dom
-you still have that "Coda" issue that made Prowl awesome, right?

It's no big deal really. I think I might actually have a spare around from when I cobbled together the Diaclone Bluestreak. And come to think of it, I still have 6 Generations Red Alerts waiting to be turned into Breakdowns.

EDIT: Yeah, I think I still have that issue.

Only sort of a haul: I ordered the Termina CDs. The money is already out of my account. They should arrive in two or three weeks. (It'll take a couple days for the original CD master to arrive at the plant, then five days turnaround time, then shipping to my house.) I'm really excited.

If you missed the fundraiser, you can still preorder the CD on the Bandcamp, and listen to the whole thing for free there. If you preorder the CD you get an immediate download, too:

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Alas, stocks of the Go-Buster mechs GT-02 and RH-03 have been delayed nationwide here fro 2 weeks and counting, so I haven't been able ot get my hands on them yet. :(

But I did manage to find a few other nifty hauls:

DotM voyagers Megatron and Ironhide
They were on clearance at less than half price, so I firgured why not. I like Megs, but I wish I dropped Ironhide and got a spare Skyhammer to keep in-box instead.

Takaratomy's Classics Cliffjumper and Deadend
Still a little steep even after a discount, but at least now i'm paying the equivalent price of 2 deluxes instead of 2 voyagers for these guys.

Nightwish's Imaginaerum
I seldom buy music CDs, but I always make a point to get Nightwish albums. Tarja/Annette disputes be damned.

My Go-Busters Morphin Brace arrived over the weekend! This was a score, all the big online Japanese toy retailers sold through their entire stock in the pre-order, but I found this cool little place that still had a couple left. So now I’ve got a Morphin Brace. I’ve never owned any toku narikiri/roleplay goods before, and while I would have expected a Kamen Rider belt of some sort to be my first, the Morphin Brace is just so kickass it doesn’t matter. This thing is just loaded with sound effects, they all sound just like the show (IT’S TIME FOR BUSTER being my undisputed favorite), the lights are strong and look cool, the spring strength on the glasses makes them look screen-perfect the way they pop out, it’s just badass. Plus, having my tiny little girl wrists finally pays off, as it means I can actually wear the thing! One of the main reasons I ordered it was because I intend to use it for a Red Buster cosplay in a couple months, but even if I don’t do that this was a worthwhile purchase. Awesome.

LET’S DRIVING!

Got a hold of a G1 Cyclonus thanks to Ursus. Man, this thing is in amazing shape, too. It just looks fantastic.

Chocolate, other candies, eggs, stomachache.

Also, thanks to Scourge I now have DOTM dlx Topspin without paying ridiculous prices. The figure has charm, I like the transformation, but the robot mode's weapon pods are just not well-executed and they drag the figure down considerably. I don't know why Hasbro does that sort of thing, that and the "let's put about a third of the paint on this figure even though it won't look very good until it's entirely painted" move that DOTM suffered so much of.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Package from my good buddy Annhell arrived, containing SH Figuarts Momotaros! Awesome, Momotaros tied with Yuuto/Zeronos for best part of Kamen Rider Den-O, I’m so glad Ann was able to snag one of these for me. He actually comes with a cup of coffee! And his sword. And he has metal feet, being an older SHF and all. The hands they included are great too, I love how expressive he is . “Ore, Sanjou!”. One more for the Figuarts horde. Annhell’s a bro.

Also grabbed vol. 4 of the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney manga. And downloaded Skullgirls for the PS3. And got new shoes. Look it was payday alright?

Went to the comic shop yesterday and got RID#1, MTMTE #1-3, Infestation 2 #1 (what? Don't look at me like that. It had Shockwave on the cover, what was I supposed to do?), and shiny Worf figure. It's the Playmates Worf in Klingon attire but it's all vaccum metalized. I like to call it "Transmetal Worf". More on this in the Trek thread.
