Took the girlfriend out, she needed it, and we went to Ollie's. Normally, they have fuck-all, but we checked the books and found some great stuff.

-A book called "Giraffes? Giraffes!" which is hilariously non-sequitur and offbeat. Someday I'll look more into it. The girl kept it, so.
-'Late Marvel US G1 TPBs.' The Titan ones. For $2 apiece. They had a whole bunch of End Of The Road and literally one copy of All Fall Down, and I bought one of each. Had to buy!
-Some cruddy Elseworlds Batman TPB that was a dollar.

Then we hit Wal-Mart and I found:

-RoC The Doctor. Mmm, Doctor.

Anyway, Boston Comicon was a great show, and I got tons of cheap comics:

-volume 2 of "Atomic Robo" compiled and single issues of volume 3.
-Bendis' "Secret Invasion".
-another copy of "GI Joe Special Missions: The Enemy".
-"Vindication" #1 from HB Comics.
-volume III of "The Devil Made Me Blog It".

And, customizing yielded several recolored Minicons.

Which BatMan comic?

Good find on the TF compilations though. When I see stuff like that, I almost regret buying everything new at full-price.
A bit late in posting this, but I picked up the Reissue Insecticons at TRU. I had heard, but forgotten, that Kickback has the pointier wings. My old one has the rounded things on the end. I don't know what all the versions are offhand, maybe the original issue was done both ways, but is this the first instance of a reissue actually being MORE dangerous than the vintage version? An evil little kid could gouge some eyes out with that sucker!
Now I have to get them.

Score! Volume 2 is slightly more serious than Volume 1 is, but it's Atomic Robo--there's a distinct limit to how serious it can get.

This. It was a dollar! And I didn't know what it was. Looks positively awful.

I would have eventually bought everything at full price, mind, if I could find them locally with any kind of consistant success rate. Now I just need Primal Scream and I'll have all the Titan collections. I was amazed they were even there--I 'never' find stuff like this in Ollie's.

I've researched it a bit now (thanks TFWiki!) and it sounds like the original Diaclone release may have had the pointier wings, but they were modified for the original US release. The Takara reissue from a few years back had the pointy wings, and so does this new US release. Wonder if they just forgot to change it this time, or couldn't find the safer mold? Hmm.
I disappear.

I headed to Goodwill with some friends who were searching for items to make last-minute easy-to-do Halloween costumes. When I found it: The central piece to the costume of the year: A brown trenchcoat, exactly like Rorschach's. Now I just need a fedora and gloves, and to finish my mask.

I made a hat. I now sorta resemble Abe Lincoln, a little bit.

Also, holy crap, you guys, I totally got a movie toy. A deluxe with a real alt mode and everything! Totally picked up Thrust. He's...interesting. His head needs to come outta the cockpit more, but other than that, I dig it so far.

Also, a shirt that appears to have a Japanese equivalent of a Frosted Flakes box on it. It's grr-eat.

We need a picture of the Abe Lincoln hat. :)

Picked up Devastation #5 out of the back issue bin today. I asked about a trade paperback version, and the shop owner is going to try and order a couple. That's the main storyline that I missed, along with associated Spotlights, so I'd just as soon get the whole thing in one shot than keep trying to dig up back issues one at a time.

Well, since you asked, go have a look at the Halloween fun thread. :)

I got some comics. They're awesome.

Wednesday, I got a $10 fedora (Jesus that's a lot for a fedora), some cheap $1 brown gloves, and some purple ribbon to put around the fedora rim.

I spent most of today walking around campus in full Rorschach garb. Yes, seriously. And then I ran into a pot they put in the middle of the fucking street (There are many of these on campus and I've never wanted to walk into one, and now I know why) so I've got some big bloody scars on my thigh and shin now. I only wish there was video, because it surely was hilarious.

I picked up Deep Desert Brawl, per '86's recommendation, and holy crap all the good things you hear are true; he's totally fixed and awesome now. The new shoulders go a *long* way towards improving this toy, and now I can enjoy the rest of the mold without worrying about them. Color scheme's pretty nice, sure, but it's honestly secondary to the long-overdue retool. Buy this thing. Regardless, no, especially if you had the original.
