Some guys could slip away, and a passing line in the third movie could explain that they were standed or otherwise unable to answer Marvin Stu's call to arms. (I full expect this to be a thing in the next movie.) Is Hawk established to have left the team? I just assumed that he was killed off-panel with most of the team.
There are more than enough Joe characters that haven't been used in this movie series so far that they could just bring in new recruits instead of relying on the "other Joe teams also massacred but somehow there was no mention of any of this in the 2nd film" bullshit.
I considered, briefly, getting a few figures from this film, but the product on the shelves doesn't hold up to the movie visually and is too expensive to justify accepting such a big change.
See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Like I said, the stuff out now sucks, and largely was intended to be released before the movie would have hit. Stuff's gonna get good with the third wave, even if you're not a fan of the film. I mean, God, look at this Cobra Commander, and the next wave even has Kwinn!

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

To my current level of interest, if I can't find it easily at market, then I don't give a shit about it.

Of course you can't find it easily at market...it's not out yet. It's the extent of saying you don't care about the upcoming Springer until it's already out.

06,Since your a huge G.I Joe toy/media fan,I just wanted to inform you that I went to my local Walmart store Yesterday. Walmart has a whole bunch of newer G.I Joe 2 movie toys that I've never seen before. I saw Cobra commanders movie 2 toy for the first time,he's wearing a helmet with a grey face plate with snake teeth on the top & both with a outfit that sorta looks like his 1980's outfit. I saw various different storm shadow toys. Their were 4 huge motorcycles with 4 different characters on them. I saw lady jay,Roadblock,Joe colton, snake eyes, storn shadow, a few cobra ninja generic troopers in various generic drone outfits. For a second I though Fireflys 3 & 1/3 toy was a repaint of snake eyes BUT IT WASN'T,The gloves were molded different. CLEARLY THE G.I JOES TOYS DO A LOT OF PART SHARING,AS I DID NOTICE CERTAIN PARTS LOOKED A BIT FAMILIAR ON VARIOUS MOVIE 2 TOYS CHARACTER TOYS. I SUSPECT FIREFLY & SNAKEEYES MIGHT BORROWED SOME PARTS FROM EACH OTHER.
I didn't buy any movie 2 Joe toys,As I never bought any of the toys from 1982 thru 2013. I just wanted to give you a heads up,the newer toys are out their in stores.
Nah, none of that stuff is "new," it's all stuff that's been confirmed to be out for months.
Incidentally, Hasbro announced this morning at their panel that the new stuff would be delayed until July, and the May release date from Toyfair was an "error." Glad to know this NOW, Jesus. So basically what's out now is EVERYTHING that will be out until JULY. Also, they're not showing ANY new product this weekend, PERIOD, except what's already been announced. What a fucking joke!
At least the July pushback gives me time to save money and also buy another Red Ninja or two, since they cancelled the sort-of-movie-accurate one!

Hasbro not showing anything new or only a handful of newer products at a official sponsored convention is nothing new. TF fans have also been dealing with this at Botcon for several years now. Who knows maybe Hasbro is disgusted with the way Funpub runs both conventions/clubs.
The bulk of the newer toys/media from Hasbro will come from NYC Toyfair,SDCC & NYCC

Wow. Cancelled toys. And, in this case, it is a more screen accurate figure. This is objectively worse than the Windcharger thing back in '10. But, I suppose it is not quite as bad as the last minute DotM figure cancellations.
Rock on Hasbro. Keep proving that have recognizable brands and IP are not enough to guarantee success in the face of self-inflicted injury.
To be fair, it was only 'close enough' accurate to the film. It's basically an ROC Storm Shadow with webgear from a cancelled Storm Shadow from the original POC line (and recently released on a multipack Snake Eyes). It was closer to the film version than the Red Ninja we got before, but that guy is objectively a better toy anyway. (I was only going to pick up one of the movie accurate ones, to act as a squad leader.)
Hasbro said there was "no room for it," which says to me that they ran out of budget somewhere.
