Power Core Combiners: Mysterious new line?

This is the obligatory part where I go: Liokaiser, Magnaboss, Tripredacus, Build King, JR-fuckin-X.

ROTF Legends Devastator was okay too.

All of these are really low bars to clear though.

JRX, Build-King and the com-beasts are clunky, with losts of "we did this to make it fit and and fits because we said so". "Armada" Perceptor does that...at 3 inches tall. (And, the designers arguably pulled it off better with Perceptor.)

Legends Devastator is not horrible. But, it is not *good*. It gets points by virtue of being compared to horrible toys.

How does Railracer have the "it fits because we say so" going on? Landfill, sure, and I've never seen the BW combiners outside of a box, but Railracer I think had it right. Also, why is Omega Prime not on this list? Is it because of the parts forming?

I have not seen a JRX in about 8 years. But, I recall it being somewhat forced. I planned, but never managed, to get one. But, I was not super in love with it.

I would not even count Omega Prime as a combiner in the merge-team sense.

Dude, have you seen the Micromaster combiners? They are shit. If you break them down, there is actually more plastic in the extra bites that needs to be added than there is in the 6 component figures. (I am not making that up. I can mail you bootlegs if you do not want to take my word for it.)

Have you seen PCC Combaticons? The drones don't even have robot modes. Say what you want about the micromaster ones, I've had the Universe Devastator set and at least they had proper robot to vehicle modes. It was certainly no worse than G1 Devastator. The drones on the PCC aren't even swapable, they turn into a hand, it always turns into a hand and that's it. Sorry, for overall totally combiner sucktitude, I've gotta give it to PCC.

And y'know, say what you will about the crap the Micromasters need to combine, but at least their combination kibble can turn into a little jet thing. I mean, it's not much, but at least they make use out of their kibble sorta.

I've only got the knockoff Sixbuilder, and I really dig it.

The kibble riding is better than just having the extra bits sitting around. But, it ain't enough to balance all the problems with those toys.
