No, really, what is this...cube of games?
(Haven't owned a vidya game system since I bought a Super Nintendo back in 1998).

April haul! Got my tax refunds and decided to upgrade the video game tech. Netted: Xbox 360, PSP, Wii, Wii fit, Mortal Kombat vs. DC for 360 and God of War for PSP. Extra controller and battery packs (the ones without the batterys that are rechargeable) for 360 and wireless router for 360.Onslaught Six wrote:Very funny. (I still own no current-gen system. Screw upgrading.)
Yeah. Shoulda held off and put that toward fixing the house I'm trying to buy, but that's a story probably for next month if I manage to close escrow.
List of systems I have:
Atari 2600, original nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, Sega Genesis, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy advance SP, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360. All are functional.

Har. I've also had various Team America songs pop into my head every time I look at him. He should be punching terrorists in the face while swigging a beer and eating an apple pie. AMERICA! FUCK YEAH! It's so appropriate that he turns into a hummer.Onslaught Six wrote:I'm not talking to you anymore.onslaught86 wrote:Plus, he looks good next to Master Chief. What?
Disregard the previous statement.- Marvel Crossovers Captain America: Every time I look at him I think of Abridged Yu-Gi-Oh. IN AMERICA!
Going back for kickass brown Wolvy today.
Got another box a few days back, containing:
- Machine Wars Starscream: Glee. Stealth Skyquake is finally mine. Bitchin' colours, bit bland tho'. Shame about the gutted gimmicks, at least he has the lightpiping. That hurt King Atlas a lot. I'd kinda like to get another MWScream and swap out a King Atlas's lightpiped sections, Atlas would be way better. I love Skyquake.
- BW2 Bighorn: He's a bison! An angry bison! He shoots a missile out of his robot face, which pops out of the beast head! Or he would if I got the missile. One step closer to completing my BW2 collections, excellent. Diver will be painful to track down.

All Hail Megatron #13. Good read. I'm going to a local Comicon on Saturday, so here's hoping I find some more reading material at a bargain price.

Re: October Hauls
In case you're serious, the GameCube was the followup to the N64. Ninty's first disc-based system. Used little 3-inch things because they were still afraid of copy protection being broken easily. (And now, once they finally switch to regular discs, what happens? It gets easily pirated!) Had very little third-party support, but it was the first system to have Resident Evil 4 (which has better gameplay and cinematics than the PS2 version, but has less extras) and had its own flurry of kickass games--like the good version of Twilight Princess.138 Scourge wrote:No, really, what is this...cube of games?

Did you get a wired (USB) 360 controller? I've honestly considered buying one myself to use for PC gaming. The 360 controller is the most comfortable I've ever used.Shockwave wrote:April haul! Lessee. My NES, which doesn't quite work anymore, my SNES, an ex-girlfriend still has my N64, every iteration of the Game Boy up until the GBA, I used to have a DS Lite (before I lost it...ugh), GameCube, a DreamCast (which doesn't work anymore mysteriously? I had it for like two weeks!), and at various points I owned a PSX and a PS2. Sold the PSX to get the PS2. Then it broke because my brother monopolized the hell out of it in his room to...play SOCOM all day. Oh, and my sister got a Wii last Christmas...yeah, get her one, don't get anything for me, the supposed gamer. The second controller is the same as the first one. I just got battery packs to go in them which came with the usb cord to plug into the 360. I hadn't thought of plugging it into my computer though, that's genius. I'll try it when I get home.Onslaught Six wrote:Did you get a wired (USB) 360 controller? Re: October Hauls
Indeed, it is genius. I've a friend who does it for most of his PC FPSes and emulators, and I recall reading that id Software was actually demoing their new game, Rage, on a PC using a 360 controller to control it.Shockwave wrote:The second controller is the same as the first one. Hot damn, that's fantastic. After I'm done here I'm going to try it with Diablo II. I've been so stuck on that game lately. Trying to find all the set items I can.Onslaught Six wrote:Indeed, it is genius. Also, HAUL!! ROTF on DVD. Having watched it again, I find a lot less plot holes and I find that I can see things a lot more clearly than I could in the theater. Wierd. I like it alot more now.
Edit: Tried the 360 controller on my computer, but it was a no go. I think I would need a strictly cable only controller and even then I think I would need drivers for it. bah.

Re: October Hauls
That sucks. I dunno if you'll need a strictly wired one or not, but drivers should certainly exist out there in plentifulness...Shockwave wrote:Edit: Tried the 360 controller on my computer, but it was a no go. Anyway. Got a paycheck! Picked up ROTF Swerve. A much better deco than Sideswipe, really is, glad I decided not to let the head bother me, because it's pretty good. Buy this, especially if you passed on Sideswipe before.
Re: October Hauls
Well it was still wirelessly connecting to the xbox, not the laptop in spite of being directly plugged into the laptop. Oh well, experiments for another day I suppose. Also, nice haul and I'll go one further and say get Swerve even if you didn't pass on Sideswipe. In fact, buy both, paint Sideswipe's helmet black and swap 'em out. Then behold the awesomeness representing the Sideswipe we should have got.Onslaught Six wrote:That sucks.
