I hope you were super careful with the popcorn ceiling stuff, there's a chance it's asbestos, I was sad to learn recently (since everyplace I've lived in the last 20 years has had it, and in earthquake country it comes down easily and often).
Best of luck on the job. Gonna do the roof yourself too, or spring for pro on that one?
Bah, it wasn't a short sale, but it was a foreclosed house. Which is probably why the walls were punched in. Still, now even if I screw up and put a hole in the wall ( already did while moving some heavy shit) I know how to fix it, so that works out.
Yes sir, was careful to the point of paranoia with the popcorn. My girl's really touchy about stuff like that.
As for the roof, man, I dunno. My brother's a construction pro, with his help we could probably knock the job out ourselves and save some coin, but I'm not great at heights, roofs, or ladders, so it might be worth the money to have someone else do it. Trying to figure out how to do this is why we didn't get it done before winter this year.

I got lucky with the popcorn. Had it tested before I bought the place and it wasn't asbestos so we knew we were ok to take it down.

(I have a sneaking suspicion that the line was as bad as it was because the people designing it didn't want to do it. If the line fails and gets cancelled, they'd be moved to something else.)
I guess. BTR definitely was an afterthought, while Kreo is its own division. Still not sure why they went after the Star Trek movie license though, the Star Trek movie toys all tanked super hard.

Ah, right on. I watched them fix a hole they cut in my wall, that's not at all what I had been expecting but it seemed easy enough.
I hear ya on the ceiling, good for you. I simply had mine painted (each room's ceiling is 2 shades lighter than the walls), apparently latex paint traps the asbestos fibers, my asthmatic lungs couldn't handle mesothelioma too.
The good thing about a pro for the roof is the warranty. The bad thing is the cost, and if the warranty isn't honored. That's a lot of coin to save though.

How much did that test cost?

Huh. I totally meant to type "Nah" instead of "Bah" there. Minor thing, but changes the tone somewhat. Posting from my phone is weird.

The 2009 Trek line failed, not because it's "Star Trek" but because it was handled by Playmates. Who wouldn't know the proper way to handle a toy line if it bit them in the ass. Aside from having two separate figure sizes (both 3 3/4" and 6") they also fucked up by flooding the toy aisles with everything. Then they also fucked up by having the completeness of the playsets be dependant on owning ALL of the figures and then not releasing the second wave. They honestly had their heads so far up their asses on that one that they were doing dental work. So it'll be interesting to see how Hasbro handles this.
The popcorn test was part of the appraisal inspection. They also tested for mold and other pests and what have you.

Playmates' Ninja Turtles line, at least, seems okay, lacking articulation in the villains aside. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think that pizza-box playset looked pretty cool.
Anyway, I'd say that Kre-O Star Trek actually seems like a smart move, as a possibility to compete with the ubiquity of Lego Star Wars, and you can bet there are a lot of people out there who will gladly pay for a Lego-ish Enterprise, at least.

I don't have anything to add except that when I look at Prowl's avatar out of the corner of my eye, it looks like Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Holy shit! Remember ATHF1? That guy from the old forums?

He wanted to marry my cousin.
ATHF, not Carl. He's quite happy with single life.

"Hey there Kick-man, maybe you can tell me what happened to my FREAKIN' SPACESHIP?!"
Honestly, due to some apparent overestimations by me in the AA personality programming, this particular incarnation of Misha wound up a bit more...genki than I had intended.
