TF:Prime Figure Review Thread

No noses? No problem! Zombiebots? Sure, why not. A confusing new canon that allows loose and contradictory material? And now a new sequel show with an entirely different art style that takes place way in the future!

I do! It's just that, uh, I don't have any recent toys, and Prime as a line kind of disinterests me. It's hard to discuss recent toys when I'm not buying them. (Cash is also super-tight right now, so I'm kind of fortunate.)

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Some of the TFPrime line does interest me, but the latest wave that actually has a bunch of dudes I want (Vehicon, Knock Out, Hot Shot) hasn't turned up here yet (just a big hive of Bumblebees at all my stores). Only other thing I've actually seen in stores that's tempted me was Cyberverse Ironhide, and even then I'm waffling so much that I'm probably not going to buy it.

But yeah, there's just *very* little on shelves right now, and even less that I'm actually interested in.

Same here. I'm mostly only seeing Bumblebee's and Cliffjumper's on the shelves. And I can't say I'm all that impressed by much of the Prime series, there are only a select few I'm interested in getting.

Excuses excuses. ;) That's a long break for you, then, because Generations is still on the backburner for another 2 months or so. I don't know how Hasbro expected retailers to hold onto those existing 2011 Generations pegs, and it shocks me that they actually DID!

I know what you mean, it's been a very slow ramp-up with this line getting to product that's not a "hive of bumblebees" (awesome turn of phrase!) but it's frustrating not talking any TF plastic whatsoever that doesn't come out of Botcon.

I saw Cyb Ironhide just yesterday at TRU, they want $10 so I passed, I hemmed and hawed, looks ok but not outstanding, a little simple in the lower body.

Nobody was even discussing old plastic, it was frustrating to see.

Another reason I'm frustrated, there really is a downturn in the brand right now.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Same. Really crazy! Thankfully I have GI Joe's movie crap to kind of fill the gap, plus a variety of other expenses (album t-shirts, etc.)

It's a slump! It happens. At least the comics are interesting. (Plus, when you're writing four-page essays about why Tim Drake should be gay, well...it takes a bit out of you.)

I keep hearing rumors that FE Prime and Bulky are going to get re-released, so I'm holding off buying the PRID versions in hopes of that. Not sure how much merit there is to those rumors though.
I'd love to pick up Knockout and the Vehicon if I could ever find them.

Trying to get all the show characters. So far I have:

Ratchet
Arcee
Bumblebee
Cliffjumper
Wheeljack
Megatron
Soundwave

No plans on getting any of the Cyberverse stuff or Zombie Cliff.

Knock Out's fairly common around here, but I keep being unable to pull the trigger on him due to how...off he looks. I know JT and I disagreed over Ratchet, but Knock Out, now THERE is a toy that is missing a lot of paint it should have.

I'd love to get the Vehicon, as he actually looks pretty cool, but I've never seen one around. Just like the Cyberverse version, Hasbro brilliantly shortpacked the army-builder character. *slow clap*

Knock Out's problem isn't just a lack of paint, but a poor expression of the deco that IS there as well. That said, he doesn't look plain the way Ratchet does, he just looks... poorly done.

I see them the opposite: Ratchet's at least got some decent red/white contrast with a little silver. Knock Out is just...entirely red.
