Picked up a couple of neat things today. First up, the Megatron Blastwave Battle Base. I've been on the fence on this one for awhile, but then I realized that it was a toy in which Megatron combined with his trailer for a supermode. That doesn't happen that often, does it? So I went with it. But I haven't opened the sucker yet because I also got the Cobra Hazard-Viper. Man, it's weird to see new G.I. Joe toys again. And all the Cobra toys were troop-builder grunt guys. I love those things. Managed to resist yet another Cobra Trooper, and I wasn't nuts about the Iron Grenadier, but man, Hazard-Viper...

I'm always kind of fascinated by Cobra's nameless trooper guys, especially the dudes in really specialized positions. And this guy, man, this poor bastard really caught my attention because he has to have the seriously worst job in Cobra. He goes around in this hideously hot and uncomfortable-looking suit, either planting nasty radioactive or toxic chemicals or having to swab 'em up after a plan goes comically awry. He's got a backpack full of something called "Compound Z" that he goes around spraying on people out of a "Toxic Sludge Blaster". Now, even with the intent being on spraying it on other people, it can't be healthy to wear a pressurized backpack full of toxic sludge, even with a radiation suit. I can't imagine these guys have a lot of kids. Or that they have an easy time getting health insurance. Neat figure, though. Basically, a dude in an entirely-removable orange radiation suit (under it, you pretty much got orange-dressed Beachhead), with the aforementioned backpack full of toxic crap, a somewhat awkward if neat blaster, a smaller sprayer for presumably more toxic crap, an orange case with three removable canisters of blue shit that's probably more of this nasty, unpleasant substance, and then a couple of pistols because at this point, why not? Man, every so often I think I'm done with Joes and then a neat figure like this comes out. Not as cool as Jungle-B.A.T., but still a pretty solidly entertaining Joe toy.

I found a RTS solar storm grappel at my local TJMaxx store a few days ago.

I didn't plan on buying the toy. as I was already satisfied with just owning the mold in the form of inferno.

however for $9.99 it was too sweet of a deal to pass up.

I suspose I'll hold on to it & if another new mold grapel gets made & it's decent. then I'll get rid of solar storm grappel.

Got Prowl's package--Marvel Universe Jim Lee Cyclops! Hot damn is this a nice figure. There's some seriously great articulation going on, 'worlds' above GI Joe--they could learn a thing or two. Granted, Cyclops' design has a lot of easy places to put in extra swivels, but still. If you like Cyclops, and you liked this design, go grab him.

Compound Z is apparently the shit that turns the zombie victims into Zombie Vipers.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Zombie Vipers? Is this a toy that's gonna come out? Hell's bells, I'd have to get that.

EDIT: Ah, I see that it is. Well, how could I resist this thing?

See? Stupid Joes keeping my interest with crazy shit.

See, I'm explicitly not interested in that. The only guys I want coming out soon are Renegades Storm Shadow (because he looks like a damn good Storm Shadow) and, I dunno, some other guys I don't remember right now?

My first thought for "compound Z" was "zykon". But, hey...

Anyway...

-customizing yielded a blue Takara CHUG Prime. It still needs a bit of touch up and suffers for using a knock-off as the base. But, unless I find a cheap legitimate pressing of that mould, this one will have to do.

I went to a wrestling show (Millenium Wresting) Saturday night. Besides enjoying the chance to just sit back and enjoy a show (rather than manning a camera), I picked up a few books at a merchandise table.

-Foley's "Foley is Good" (to replaced a lost copy)
-Chyna's "If They Only Knew"
-Kurt Angle's "It's True, It's True"
-"Wrestlecrap", published by ECW

I am a bit annoyed that Chyna's and Angle's books only credit the co-writers on the inside. But, for $5, I cannot be too offended, (even if I am taking off points).

Oi, pics? Well, my phone is on its way out, and I do not even have a place to store the pictures anymore.

At some point, I will post new pics....just not anytime soon.

Thanks Scourge.

It still needs a bit of touch up, but you get the idea.
