Finally got around to reading
The Starbreaker Supremacy storyline, comprised of Green Lantern #25-27 and Green Lantern Corps #7-9.
GL #25
Oa has become home to all of the Corps Central Batteries, but only the Green Lantern battery is working and they need to find a way to light the others. Meanwhile, The Starbreakers have built their own Central Battery, which they need to light in order to become corporeal in this plane of existence. The Lanterns go to Gemworld, where we learn about the Song Stones, which can amplify anything projected into them, but are protected by a dragon, and the Sunbreakers and Fractured Spectrum arrive with the same plan to use the Song Stones to light their battery. The Starbreakers manage to take the Song Stones, and light their battery. Meanwhile, the Lanterns go to plan b, Kyle powers up to a White Lantern in an attempt to light all their Central Batteries, but the energy of the Starbreaker Battery soaks up all emotions in the universe.

Now corporeal, the Starbreakers go on a tirade eating stars. Meanwhile. John's ring (which somehow still works), with the essence of his mother (although John says it's not really her) inside, explains that because John had been connected with The Source, it knows the Entities still exist beyond the Source Wall. They come to realize the Entities have been calling out for help for some time now to explain some previous storylines, like Sinestro suddenly having Red energy, or the Predator showing up out of no where but apparently was just a projection. The Interceptor arrives at the Source Wall and is attacked by Starbreaker, but John's ring/mother is able to phase shift them through the wall.

In proximity to the Entities, the Lanterns on the Inceptor have their emotions and powers restored. Strangely, there is a Parallax among them, who was bonded to Sinestro at the time Kyle took the others through the Source Wall. The Lanterns also seem to think the original Parallax died, even though the last reference I can find says he was captured in a Yellow Ring by Superman. At any rate, the Entities explain this is a new Fear entity born out of their own fear. Also, the Life Entity is missing. They say it "gave itself" to Kyle so that he could get back through the Source Wall... But it's still not made clear what happened to it. At any rate, the Entities propose bonding with the Lanterns, but Hal chains them, tired of the Entities always controlling them when they do that, and suggests they team up instead. They agree and Kyle uses their power to become a White Lantern to get through the Source Wall again. They battle the Starbreakers waiting for them on the other side, forcing them to retreat.
GLC #8
The Lanterns and Entities arrive at the Castle of the Desolate Stone to battle the Starbreaker Corps. Nathan (the Sorrow Lantern) enters the Fractured Spectrum Battery, which explodes. This restores emotion to the universe, but kills the Entities. The Lanterns leave, but the Starbreakers also survived, and despite the loss of their battery, remain corporeal. Meanwhile, Korna's Gauntlet has possessed Simon Baz's mind...

Simon inserts Korna's gauntlet into a device. Keli tries to warn people about it, but they all tell her they have bigger problems at the moment... The Starbreakers are on their way to destroy them. John decides to release everyone from the Sciencells and asks for their help defending Oa. He then uses his own power, sacrificing himself, to ignite all of the Central Batteries and restore all of the Corps. John's sister, who is a living Green Lantern construct, is chosen by a Blue Lantern ring.

A gigantic battle ensues as the various Lantern Corps defend Oa from the Starbreakers. Eventually, the Starbreakers realize they can just absorb the Lanterns attacks, since they feed on emotional energy.... Begging to question why they didn't do this in any other fight. Simon wakes up, seeing a device downloading Korna's consciousness from the Gauntlet, which he smashes. Despite the download being interrupted, Korna is reborn in a twisted clone body of Hal Jordan. Energy also shoot out and hits the Guardians, who have their memories restored and turn up the power of the Batteries. Sensing this will satiate need to feed on emotional energy, the Starbreakers enter the various Central Batteries... Because imprisoning things in the Batteries has always worked out well in the past. John's mother/ring goes off, and finds... another John in one of the Dark Sectors where he's living on a farm with Katma Tui.

This storyline is... messy.
I like the idea all of the Central Batteries are on Oa, and establishes a new joint venture of all the Corps. But this largely ignores what other writers have done. For example, the last time was saw the Indigo Tribe that I I recall, Sinestro had hired the New52 Lobo to take them out and the only survivor was Iroque. Yet, they show up in this story like that never happened. But, to be fair, it seems like every other writer always changes direction with the Emotional Spectrum. I really wish DC's editorial team would put their foot down to stick with one direction and keep things consistent.
Not sure why it's such a difficulty for them to figure out how light the Central Batteries. I mean, with how often they've been destroyed and rebuilt...
I liked that they brought back the Entities, but I'm disappointed that they immediately killed them off. Maybe, given the Life Entity's fate is left ambiguous, it can restore them, like how they inexplicably created another Parallax? They ignore the concept of the Emotional Reservoir. I can't say that I really mind it that much, given I wasn't a fan of the concept of the Emotional Reservoir in the first place, but it makes it confusing why the Entities went beyond the Source Wall. In fact, one character even says the Entities replenished the Source Wall, which just isn't what happened.
Strangely, one of the covers shows the Sorrow Lantern on top of what appears to be an Entity of Sorrow. Not that covers necessarily depict what happens in the issue, but it seems especially odd for a cover to invent something like this that isn't in the story. I know the Fractured Lanterns have been a thing for like a year or two, but they're basically just background characters in this story. It would have been nice to see them do... anything. The Starbreakers also seemed a little ill defined. I know one of them, after I looked up the character, was first introduced in 1972, but I didn't really get that sense he had a history. There definitely was some lead into this story, which I think maybe should have been in this story. As it is, they kinda seemed like a Black Lanterns knock off, sucking up all the emotional energies, but the Starbreakers Central Battery was way more effective.
I wish Kyle's ability to become a White Lantern again was better defined. At one point he just... I'm not sure. Charges himself up? But then we see he uses the combine energies of the Entities, which makes a little more sense. And then there's the unknown fate of the Life Entity having "gave itself" to Kyle. So... does that mean it's bonded to him? That could explain the apparent ability to transform at will, but again, they needed to explain this better..
Keli Quintela's gauntlet having the consciousness of Krona in it is inexplicable. I'm guessing the writer thought it was Korna's gauntlet, given, depending on the artist, they are designed almost identically. But Krona's gauntlet should still be locked up from the last time we saw it. Keli's gauntlet is a device of her own making, that she built from a damaged Green Lantern power battery.
I like the Razor and Aya have been included in the comics. I was a big fan of the Green Lantern Animated Series, so it's great to see the characters folded into the comics as well. It's implied they have a history somewhat similar to the cartoon series, but I feel like if you didn't see the cartoon, it wouldn't resonate, given this is the first time they've been in the comics and we don't know this version of the characters. Razor becoming a Red Lantern again also feels like a step back for the character, especially now that he's been reunited with Aya. I think it would have made more sense to keep him a Green Lantern. Or maybe a Blue Lantern, like his Young Justice appearance.
I gather the reason there are two of John was explained in "Emerald Knight". Apparently he used "hypertime" to essentially duplicate himself. So one of him returned to the Corps while the other stayed in the Dark Sectors.
There are plenty of interesting ideas in this story... But I think it could have been better.
