Fine. Not ALL his craptastic glory. Some of it is mercifully hidden by words.

The great advantage of the early TF comics' writing style.Ursus mellifera wrote:Some of it is mercifully hidden by words.
Quiet! You'll give them ideas!Gomess wrote:Screw the Nemesis, anyway. The Decepticons spent more time in their new ship in the cartoon.
And THAT was *definitely* never named.
OH NO WAIT at one point Mirage says, "The ship was FULL"! Yeah, that's the second ship's name! "Full"!!

According to the "Transformers: The Ark - A Complete Compendium Of Transformers Animation Models" reference book, that ship was named Victory.Gomess wrote:Screw the Nemesis, anyway. The Decepticons spent more time in their new ship in the cartoon.

OH HO HO HO Mainframe, YOU GUYS.Sparky Prime wrote:You'd expect it to be the name "Nemesis" but it actually spells "Red Dwarf".
Pics or it didn't happen, as they say.Sparky Prime wrote:According to the "Transformers: The Ark - A Complete Compendium Of Transformers Animation Models" reference book, that ship was named Victory.
I don't own the book personally. I mentioned it because the TFWiki cites getting a name for that ship from that book.Gomess wrote:Pics or it didn't happen, as they say.
As you said, the Decepticons spent more time on that ship than the Nemesis. They could have named it after the crash for all we know. And seeing as none of the ships are specifically named in the G1 cartoon, yet the Ark at least was named in the comics, I don't think that means giving it a name was ignored, if only behind the scenes....Did they even have time to name the second ship? MTMTE's timeline is a bit screwy, or decompressed to say the least. But regardless, Megatron clearly refers to it as "the space cruiserrrrr!" in the actual broadcast (which should really count as canon) so I'm pretty sure this "Victory" thing was nixed / ignored early on.
Doubt it.Dominic wrote:I suppose it might have been Shooter or Machio that named the ship "the Ark". AUNTIE was some piss poor attempt at whimsy. Good riddance to that name.
I know that the Nemesis showed up in the UK comics. Was it named there?
Not really. I mean, there's asteroids there, but it's more implied that they just kind of run into it because they're being attacked by Decepticons.Actually, in the cartoon, the Autobots have to knock out some asteroids as well.
It's never strictly stated that Cybertron was ever in orbit of a star to begin with in the cartoon. But, I am not sure if Cybertron was off its orbit.
I don't think so, Tim. Exact MTMTE dialogue:(Searching for energy makes sense, but was not a given reason until "Beast Wars".)
Realistically, probably enough force that they would have destroyed the whole planet before taking it out of orbit.-always wondered how Cybertron came off its orbit. I mean, what would it take?
