I realize times are tough, with the un-employment being so high, stuff being so costly, but killing others should never be the answer as justification methods.

any fool can kill,it takes a real man to go out,put himself in harms harms way to save others.

Glad to hear Dom is okay.

And, apparently, Anonymous is planning a counter-rally. As if having two inflammatory groups is such proximity (at a time like this no less) were not bad enough, South Boston (Dorchester) has long been a powder keg on its own.
Good for Anon. (Although, Anonymous is weird because, I suspect, there are several splinter groups that all refer to themselves as 'Anonymous.' So it's weird.)

Dom texted me this morning that the city and surrounding areas are in lockdown after last night's events, and they are currently combing the neighborhoods near Dom's for the missing suspect. He was home, but his power went out.

In case you didn't see today's news, 2 suspects' images had been released to the public for help, and identified. The suspects apparently robbed a mini mart, found a cop sitting in his car at MIT and shot him dead, carjacked someone and told the victim they were the bombers, drove off with the guy but the vic escaped, the car was tracked via its GPS and during chase they may have been throwing explosives at the police, then when stopped one of them (the elder brother) got out of the car and a gun battle erupted, then the elder brother was shot and the younger brother ran him over and drove off and is missing. The police found the dead older brother wearing an explosive vest, and the police have done controlled detonation on other explosives from these guys. The younger brother is now at large.

Yeah, I have variably seen things like "basically martial law has been declared in Boston" and "Boston is basically an 80s movie dystopia right now."

I always knew Snake Plissken was a Harvard man.

Just a clarification:

I do not live as close the areas directly affected this week as JT seems to think. (I can see how he misread a few of my texts though, as I probably could have been more clear.)

For the record:
~5 miles from the initial bombing in Copley Square.
~4 miles from MIT (where Friday's chase started)
~9 miles from Watertown.

That said, I have been to all of the areas more than once in the last year, and recognized buildings/streets in news reports. (If you saw a Domino's pizza mentioned in any of the reports out of Watertown, I know exactly where it is. I could not even guess how many times I have walked down Boylston Street or through that area of Cambridge in the past year or so.)

As of now, the police succussfully killed one terrorist, and have arrested 5 others: the younger bother, the female roommate (and her brat) in Cambridge, three more in Bedford (significantly away from Boston).

The male roommate (the husband of the female roommate) has not been reported captured or otherwise. (He was last mentioned mid-morning local time, so he may not even have been mentioned significantly outside of the Boston area.) And, there is no word on who set the bomb discovered between Coply and Kenmore on Friday. (It is unlikely that it was sitting un-noticed since Monday the 15th.)

I honestly believe that the cops blew it in capturing so many alive. (I do not want US/MA tax money funding the brat's up-bringing while mommy lounges in jail.)

I went in to Boston last night and walked around the area. Walking up Newbury Street (directly parallel to Boylston) was surreal. Shops are open and people are out and about. But, at cross streets (such as Dartmouth or Clarendon), there are police barricades. Nobody is getting on to or out of that area of Boyston Street. (Anybody who has a pet and was not home on Monday is likely to find a dead cat or dog in their apartment when the street re-opens. This bothers me.) The wind blew a small piece of masonry off of a building on Newbury. (Buildings in that area are old, and such things are not unheard of.) Several people, myself included, jumped at the sound.
