Re: TF Prime episodes
Well it's interesting to see them introduce this Mech organization to have a human threat in the series... But as BWprowl said, this episode has gone back to the reliance on convenience. Coordinates solve the problem of using the ground bridge to get onto a moving train? Uh, guys, that only gets you where the train was at that moment, it doesn't solve that it's still moving. The kids buy all of, what, 2 seconds for Optimus to catch up? 1 second of which was Raf just switching the track from the base. I don't see that it was necessary at all for the kids to have been on the train seeing as they didn't accomplish anything. Actually, now Mech knows the Autobots have some kids working with them, so if anything, they've needlessly become targets to yet another group besides the Decepticons.
Dingus? They actually came up with an acronym just so they could call it a dingus... They put more thought into that then they did how to get the kids onto the train.

Knockout stole the show. I got a Terrorsaur vibe from him, though their personalities couldn't be more different. I am really liking the aesthetic of the bots and cons in this series more and more with each new episode. The plot was pretty basic, but serviceable. Even though it's the same kind of plot we've seen a million times, it was still done well here.
I have to say though, that I'm feeling deprived of Arcee. Bulkhead, Ratchet and Prime seem to eat up most of the screentime, but Arcee hasn't gotten much focus since Darkness Rising. Surprising since Jack started out as the main kid. I thought we'd see a lot more of him and Arcee together, but instead we're getting a lot of Miko and Bulkhead. In a way I guess it's kind of suiting. Bulkhead is a big softy, and Arcee is more stand-offish. Makes sense that her relationship with Jack isn't as tight as Miko and Bulkhead's.
OH! And did anyone notice that Starscream actually took a vote! That he allowed there to be a vote!? And he didn't override his troops' votes when they all wanted a medic to have a look at Megatron. He's running a democratic ship!

Re: TF Prime episodes
Yeah, Starscream took a vote. He also brutally murdered one of his dudes just to test out the Energon Harvester. Must be playing the ol' "Good Boss, Bad Boss".
Episode wasn't too bad. Initially I wondered why the construction crew didn't notice Bulkhead and Breakdown duking it out, but then I realized that OF COURSE no one was actually working at a construction site! Miko was still annoying as hell and I agree that Bulkhead's getting too much screentime, but it was at least functional and entertaining, which is more than I can say for the mess that was the last episode. I have to say though, it's pretty ballsy for a series that relies so much on plot convenience to actually title an episode "Deus Ex Machina". Though there was comparatively little of that in this one.
I dug Knock Out, and am surprised/pleased that he managed to survive his debut episode. Breakdown wasn't bad either. Finally, more Decepticons!

Re: TF Prime episodes
They were fighting at night. Not many construction crews work through the night. But I get what you're saying. You just want to see more humans running around. Some more of the population in the populated areas, and I agree. I see a few more here and there. The places seem more lively than the deserted town from the pilot episode, but still need more life.

Um, what? I'm talking about when Bulkhead and Brakedown first fought in Greece. During the day.Mako Crab wrote:They were fighting at night. Not many construction crews work through the night.

About time they added some new Decepticons with out killing them off right away. I'd have to say I liked the new duo. Also thought it was interesting that Starscream commented on Knock Out choosing a car alt mode rather than something that flies, pointing out Decepticons preference for flight.BWprowl wrote:I dug Knock Out, and am surprised/pleased that he managed to survive his debut episode. I'm surprised how much screen time Bulkhead has been getting in this series. Seems odd after the premier put the main focus on Arcee and Jack, while now they seem more like supporting characters. Which is disappointing. Bulkhead is alright in this series but Miko is just annoying. And Bumblebee as the token yellow kid-appeal character has probably gotten the least screen time of the Autobots. Seems like they've got the character focus backwards.

Yeah, especially considering like half of Starscream's troops turn into cars!Sparky Prime wrote:Also thought it was interesting that Starscream commented on Knock Out choosing a car alt mode rather than something that flies, pointing out Decepticons preference for flight.

Re: TF Prime episodes
Ah. Uh. . . lunch break?Um, what? I'm talking about when Bulkhead and Brakedown first fought in Greece. During the day.
I'm rewatching the episode again right now. I'm going to do a running commentary.
- The blonde girl wearing pink and white in detention with Miko reminds me of Penny from Inspector Gadget!
- Love the shot of the 'con ship cruising through a lightning storm. Ooh! And especially like the shot of Starscream observing the storm through the giant glass window on the bridge as a bolt of lightning flashes right in front of him.
- Starscream- "Our inevitably former leader. . . " Hehe forgot to mention that the first time, but I really like that line.
- The music during Breakdown and Bulkhead's 1st fight really is short but epic. Very cool
- I really like the idea of Transformers mimicking the art styles of a given era to hide messages for other TFs. I mean come on, that's just cool. And I like that they flat out denied having any contact with humans in the past. We've been seeing the same old plot of how TF technology inspired all of human civilization a few too many times now in the DW comics, both Bay movies, etc.
- AH!! AH!! When Ratchet tries to call Agent Fowler! Look under his profile pic! It's his name written in Cybertronian! I think the TF Prime universe has its own TF alphabet just like Beast Wars did! There's 6 letters in Fowler's name and 6 cybertronian letters under his pic. I deciphered some Cybertronian!
- Knockout's license plate reads JOFY 892. Any significance to anyone?
- Not only is it cool when Optimus catches the missle, it's really cool when it cracks the giant window to the museum entrance. Nice.
- They modeled Breakdown's undercarriage in vehicle mode! I noticed some modeling on the undercarriage of the MECH cars last episode too. No one ever bothers with that, so it makes me very happy to see them pay attention to even the smallest details.
- Like how Optimus bats Knockout away when he tries to leap onto his back for the 2nd time. It looked like Optimus was still feeling pretty weak, but managed to find just enough strength to fend off the 'con. Not a graceful move like usual, but more a desperate one.
- I think it's interesting that Soundwave has the most direct contact with the kids. I also like his seemingly disinterest in them, taking the orb but leaving them unharmed. We know he's aware of them since he took their photo in Darkness Rising. Maybe he sees them as being just as useful to the Decepticons as they are to the Autobots. Afterall, they did just deliver the orb to him.
- I noticed that when Knockout and Breakdown took off, only Arcee pursued them. I like her.
- WHOA! That epic dramatic music as Starscream drains the energon from a random Eradicon! I've never seen such emphasis put on the death of a random drone. I'm definitely buying the soundtrack when it comes out.
- I didn't notice it before, but after someone said it, I saw Knockout's tires spinning in bot mode when he was cowering from Starscream.
- Starscream *does* have his weapon out, but retreats after Knockout and Breakdown take off. Which makes me wonder why KO and BD took off anyway. They did a pretty good job handling all the Autobots last time and this time Bulkhead's even out of the fight. 2 against 4 is no problem for them, but 3 against 3 is? Can't even claim that they lost the element of surprise, because the 1st time Knockout just drove right up to Optimus and said hi.
- In the security guard's office there's a poster for Big Rocks National Park. A reference to Big Rock Candy Mountain? Or just a joke that there's a lot of big rocks? Also the calendar is in March, same time as the first airing of this episode. Hehe.
- Aww! Miko gave Fowler the thumbs up. I think even the kids are growing to like him.
- Reggie Bannister played the security guard! He's Reggie from the Phantasm movies. Bald guy with a ponytail. Drives a hemicuda and blasts monsters with a 4-barrel shotgun. Cool.
And that's all I got

Ya know, I like potty humour as much as, if not more than, anyone else on this forum. And, even I think that is retarded. (Going out of one's way to include potty humour as an Easter Egg kind of defeats the purpose.)
