HOLY CRAP ME TOO!!Onslaught Six wrote:Meanwhile, I'm playing Mortal Kombat I.
Seriously, I just recharged my psp the other day and have been playing 1 and II on it. Along with Guantlet and Joust and... yeah, it's a compilation thing so...
Re: Bay Ninja Turtles Obligatory Bitch Thread
Me and a mate who grew up on Mortal Kombat had a go on Trilogy last night, it's amazing how many moves we actually managed to remember. Then I showed him Guilty Gear and it gave him a headache. Stick to what you know, I guess.
Also Kintaro is broken.
Also Kintaro is broken.

Re: Bay Ninja Turtles Obligatory Bitch Thread
Broken as in the game didn't work or broken as in overpowered? Cause I would assign that to all of the bosses. Goro and especially Motaro. Khan a little less so but even still.
Re: Bay Ninja Turtles Obligatory Bitch Thread
Kintaro has an unblockable homing teleport overhead which requires just two directional inputs, not even an attack button, and can be repeated before the opponent has time to recover. THAT kind of broken.
It's amazing MK was as popular as it was considering how terribly programmed it was, but I think it got a lot of points for its aesthetic; starting off with recognisable kungfusploitation and slowly morphing into a more 90s xtreme cyberpunk style must have drawn in a LOT of kids, myself included of course. And, y'know, being able to kill your opponent. Who'd play MK without Fatalities, seriously?
Trilogy is an astouding piece of imbalance, though. "Hey, Sektor's homing missile is kind of unfair. How can we fix that? Maybe give him a move that shoots two missiles at once AS WELL? Yeah good." You'd think they would've taken the opportunity to refine the characters, seeing as- Johnny Cage and a few Animalities aside- there seems to be no actual new content in it.

I think Motaro is worse seeing how projectiles are useless against him (his skin automatically blocks them). And then he has that tail swipe that works from anywhere on the screen and his own projectile and... yeah, he's way more broken than Kintaro. Not to say I disagree with you, cause you're right, Kintaro is pretty broken too, but I'm just sayin.
Re: Bay Ninja Turtles Obligatory Bitch Thread
Motaro actually *reflects* projectiles automatically, so yeah, that is terrible and all, but he's nowhere near Kintaro in terms of offence. His sweep is easily dodged with a flying kick, which you should be using against him anyway since he finds them hard to defend against (along with roundhouses). First exploit I found in MK3!
...If only we could play MKT online to settle this absurd dispute!! =p
But actually, MK bosses are all easy to beat once you find their weak spot due to the simple game engine. Give any King of Fighters a try for REAL broken bosses!
Kintaro... Motaro... Hey, where's Urataro and Ryuutaro? *waits for exactly one person to get this joke*

*Recalls Krizalid and reflexively weeps* And even he's nothing compared to Mukai, who I can only assume was programmed on a dare, or something.Gomess wrote:But actually, MK bosses are all easy to beat once you find their weak spot due to the simple game engine. Dammit, Magaki, that's the one I was thinking of. You're right, Mukai is nothing.Gomess wrote:I honestly found Mukai to be nothing compared to Magaki tho

Shredder? Super Shredder? I dunno, the game was so clunky and SF2-level balls-hard that I dismissed it pretty quickly....So uh, who even is the boss(es) of the TMNT fighter(s)?
