Glad I'm not alone, then! I really hope it does well and gets a sequel or two. The biggest problem they might have is getting certain things to "fit" between any sequels and the previous X-Men films--basically they can't really introduce certain mutants, whose beginnings would be cool to see, without invalidating any of the previous films. Thankfully, Sabertooth's turn to Magneto is unexplored, so that's one thing they can do.

True, but there were a lot of mutants seen in the third film who's backgrounds were unexplored so I think there's a lot of room for them to expand, but yeah, I'd like to see this continue as well. Also, Kevin Bacon as a Nazi was freakin' awesome! He actually made a pretty decent villain.

I know. I was impressed at his language skills, also (assuming it was him speaking; sounded like it). I get the feel this is going to make a lot of younger people go "Who the fuck was that bad guy?"

I kind of wondered if he wasn't meant to be some version of Mr. Sinister?

They do a little changing of things around for the film evidently, but it's pulled off so well that I don't even mind.

Yeah, I imagine they would. It doesn't bother me cause I'm largely unfamiliar with everyone's specific origins anyway.

Yeah, I don't really get bothered that much by things getting changed around for the X-Men movies, either. Usually. I'm not as into the X-Men comics, so if, say, Lady Deathstrike is different than the comics, I don't even give half a damn. The only time they've changed up an X-character for the movie and I've been irritated is the new version of Angel Salvadore.

is a lot less cool than the character in the comics. But even then, I'm not that irate about it.

I'm sure I've mentioned it in here already, but I really dug First Class. Good stuff, there.

I also like how they basically made Professor X into Austin Powers.

Haha, yeah, when I read descriptions of that before the film came out, it reaaaally pushed my optimism down for it, but then they just made it work so flawlessly, and he obviously is more interested in helping humanity and mutants (mutanity?) co-exist. James McAvoy really impressed there; I was worried because he wasn't exactly the best actor in Wanted (although he wasn't bad by any means) but then again Wanted wasn't exactly the best movie, either. I hope, if nothing else, he gets a lot more roles after this, I'd love to see him in more things. Him and Josh Hartnett, who totally needs more roles that don't appear they suck from the Wikipedia articles.
