Hyperstone Heist is a weird, watered-down alternate universe version of Turtles In Time. It's strange how similar and also different it is.
Anyway, it turns out Tournament Fighters was on a lot of different consoles--there was even an NES version, and it looks like it was really bad.

Yeah, I'd have to say I preferred the Turtles in Time version, but I didn't have an SNES. Friend of mine who did rented it once as I remember though.Onslaught Six wrote:Hyperstone Heist is a weird, watered-down alternate universe version of Turtles In Time. Really? Hm, surprised I don't remember it.Anyway, it turns out Tournament Fighters was on a lot of different consoles--there was even an NES version, and it looks like it was really bad.

I still have Turtles in Time for the SNES. Mostly cause I still have my SNES. Actually, I think I'm gonna go play it now. Well, maybe later tonight. I also still have the Turtles games for the NES. I remember there was the first Turtles game that had wierd levels and stuff and then the second one that was based off the arcade game. Don't recall Tournament Fighters for the original NES though.
EDIT: I Stand corrected, I actually have NO Turtles games for the NES. WTF? Seriously? I never got these? What the hell is wrong with me?

Maybe you rented them?
Anyway, get TMNT 3! It's a little harder to find, but it's the most original of the games.

This is some truly awful casting. She is so not like April O'Neil that it'd be funny if it weren't such a massive fuckup. I'm guessing she's taking this role because she has no career options right now, she's mismanaged the momentum her career had coming off of the Transformers films.
As for her split with Bay, she's never entirely been keen on him (perhaps because he degradingly made her audition for TF in jean shorts while washing his Ferrari), but the split after ROTF was more due to her referring to Bay as being like Hitler - it rubbed producer and famous Hebrew Steven Spielberg the wrong way.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Gah, this makes me wish I'd been following this topic more closely. I had like, a whole day I spent a little while back looking into the different versions of TMNT Tournament Fighters! Yes, they're all basically completely different games with the same name. Yes, the SNES version has Aska and the Genesis/MegaDrive version has April, among numerous other character differences. Yes, the NES version is a nigh-unplayable mess, fighting games on the NES being something that would definitely be ill-advised.Onslaught Six wrote:Hyperstone Heist is a weird, watered-down alternate universe version of Turtles In Time. I'm pretty sure I had them at one point. I remember that Turtles II came with a Pizza Hut coupon. Which I used. Cause I love pizza.Onslaught Six wrote:Maybe you rented them?

Has anyone played the SNES fighter relatively recently? I remember it being waaaay close to the SFII engine. I know that's an easy criticism to level at a 90s fighter, but really. I think the *sounds* might have been the same.
Just wondering if it's worth downloading the ROM, since I don't like to think there's a good 2D fighter I don't own.

I played it back during the aforementioned research period. I...wasn't entirely sold on it. It's *very* clunky, even moreso than the SNES version of SFII. I think Fighter's History or even the original version of Fatal Fury runs more smoothly. There *might* be a more interesting fighter buried in there if you can get used to the rough mechanics, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out, I've been too spoiled by my Third Strikes and Guilty Gears and Melty Bloods.Gomess wrote:Has anyone played the SNES fighter relatively recently? Guilty Gear might be one of my favourite games of all time, but it doesn't have a character called War.
WAR!!!
