Dumb fans think Furman should write G1 #81 and beyond.

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!
Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

Well, I'm not sure how you can compare DBZ and Big O's character models. DBZ eyes are basically just massive triangles, which I agree looks silly.

Try Hokuto no Ken, then. The eyes are generally smaller (except when it comes to little kids, obviously). It's markedly 80s, unlike the previous two- very much 90s- examples.

But really, comparing DBZ and Big O's appearances is like comparing The Simpsons' and 90s X-Men's. =p

Yeah I don't get it either. Big O looks more like Batman TAS than anything else.

(Just FYI, that link to Smith is broken for me.)

Of course, Trekwave is entitled to his opinion. I mean, O6 and I know anime pretty well, and with experience comes.. like.. I dunno. An eye for detail?

Most people who don't know TF well (i.e. most people) couldn't tell a BW Transformer from a Cybertron one, could they?

To me it looked more like the difference between Simpsons and South park. Both still have big eyes but different animation styles. I see what you're saying though.

Now you see what you did?? We bullied him! =p

(Still interested by the fact that Trekwave liked Ninja Scroll, which basically has an identical art style to Hokuto no Ken, and to a lesser extent, Big O. I mean, it looks flash and everything, but that's 'cos it's a movie, not a series. ...I mean, I guess you're talking about the movie rather than the series?)

Soooo... Do y'know what you liked about it?

I remember it having a lot of quite unique and visceral fight scenes, which is a decent reason. I'm just interested as to how it overcomes your dislike for big eyes.

I don't recall the eyes being that big. In fact, I remember that being one of the reasons that I found it watchable and was able to focus on the story. That's about all I remember really, it's easily been 13+ years since I've seen it.

Welp, that's another one for the Hypothetical Future Meetup's to-do list! =D

...BWprowl and I will understand if you don't stick around after Ninja Scroll to watch a bunch of cutesy Magical Girl stuff, tho'. =3
