If you guys love almost all of the Energon Decepticons, then it's not the WORST TF toy line sponsored by a media cartoon/movie. The WORST title should belomg to the TF toy line that had the LEAST amount of toys you liked ,not 50%.
If that's the criteria, then TF Prime is easily the worst TF line supported by media, both TFP and TFPBH. The toys are largely unsatisfying, overpriced, and underbaked. I'm displeased with well over half the product in the line, it's the US line I've bought the least of since G2, far and away. Up until DOTM, I bought a large percentage of every line from BW until that line, DOTM's product downshifted me to being considerably more disinterested, but it was TFP that finally really killed it, I'm now extremely cautious with my purchases. And the media support is middling at best.

Armada would be my runner-up, I bought nearly everything but looking back there's a lot of terrible there. The show was kinda dumb but sold the product well, which made the lackluster product that much more disappointing.

Energon would be third place, a malaise permeates the line, nothing's *terrible* but not much is great either, everything feels chunky and tired. The show did a bad job selling the product.

DOTM would make my fourth place, the movie is violent and hateful, but the toy line is just fraught with uninspired designs and budget cutbacks, this was an area where less toys got bought, yet at the same time there were more ideas.

PCC would be my fifth place if it had media support, but it didn't.

Man this thread is making me remember that I left serious collecting on a high note with Cybertron. That line had some surprisingly good toys and even the show has aged surprisingly well. Whenever I buy a new toy these days and I compare it to my memories of older toys they don't stack up.

Part of it may be that during Cybertron I was like, what,14, 15 and buying them mostly with allowance money and now I'm 20 and spending "real ass adult money" on my toys and so I'm far more sensitive to getting bang-for-my-buck now.

Cybertron was pretty good, it learned from a lot of the mistakes of Armada and Energon, and it had new ideas like new factions/planets. I do feel like the tail end didn't quite live up, the giganto planet products weren't as good as the rest, but it held up pretty well. I liked Animated a lot too though, and the first movie line was better than I had been fearing. Earning your own money definitely taints how one buys!

Animated and the movie TFs both suffered, IMO, from having really stylized designs. I like to be able to display all my TFs together in a kind of line-agnostic aesthetic. Movie TFs and Animated, while I own plenty of both, can really only be displayed with eachother.

I do agree the line went to shit around the time people started getting upgraded bodies willy-nilly... but on the other hand I stopped collecting halfway through Cybetron and feel I got all the best models.

Armada I feel had strong thick plastic toy sculpts with limited poseabilty. Energon Had stream lined toys with tons of poseabilty. I feel the Cybertron toy line SUCCESSFULLY combined the thick plastic Sculpts of armada with the decent poseabilty that the Energon toys had. SADLY the Cybertron toys lacked the poseabilty that the Energon toys had.

I wasn't a fan of the Cybertron Beast planet toys, because the toys lacked key articulations joints in key major spots. some toys like ultra size scourge & voyager leobreaker had weird restricted jointed in the shoulder & arms. CLEARLY THE BEAST WARS & BEAST MACHINES BEAST-BOTS HAD MORE POSEABLE JOINTS.

While I think Cybertron Primus was a far better sculpted planet. Unicron was the clear superior toy,as unicron was so super poseable it's in the same poseable league as MasterPiece TF toys. While I think Primus was a more beautiful sculpt in both modes,Unicron was the higher sculpted, more detailed planet former. Unicron's toys,I felt was aimed at older kids like teens & adults. While I felt the sculpt+poseabilty that primus had was catered/aimed at much younger kids than unicron was.

I always have problems with Unicron. The wings pop off or won't stay upright, or the chest doors won't latch and stay closed, or the plastic crotch-flaps (for lack of a better term!) detach at the slightest provocation. And a rounder more planet-like planet mode (not made up of detachable shell pieces) would be nice! But it's a nice large figure with plenty of good points and plenty of articulation, and I still enjoy it quite a bit. Primus is vastly superior as a planet and sculpt-wise, but too small and not quite as much fun. Still, at least it doesn't fall apart if I look at it wrong!

As far as best or worst lines go, I have a hard time choosing. I've always been particular about which Transformers I buy, due to limited space and funds, and I find something to like in just about every line. I probably bought the least amount of animated figures (only two as I recall), but that was due to not liking the aesthetic. The show was very good. I only bought a few movie figures, despite not being a fan of the aesthetic or the movie, I still found a ROTF figure or two that I wanted. I liked DOTM quite a bit more, but just couldn't be bothered with more movie toys at that point. I really like Prime, but only have a few figures. I'm just not a heavy collector in recent years. Like and dislike of the animated series or movie doesn't really factor into it.

On the other hand, I love G1, and a good homage to that line will almost always suck me in. I think Blitzwing and Springer are on my list, and I would love to figure out a way to buy Metroplex. If he's going to be bigger than Fort Max, I'll no longer have the biggest Transformer ever in my collection. That just can't be allowed to happen!

I always manage to pick up one or two TF toys from my most Hated TF toy lines. I find in the most awful TF toy lines ARE one or Two of the best TF toys, that far surpass anything else. EXAMPLES:
1- TFA leader sized Megatron is hands down the best vehicle megatron toy ever created.
2- BM Ultra Sized Jetstorm is a awesome homage to G-1 Cyclonus
3- DOTM created two of the best non-optimus Leader sized toys called ironhide & sentinel prime.
4- Titanium 6 inch created the Best new mold Rodimus Prime toy.
5- Armada gave us the king of all transformers toys,Unicron. a awesome homage toy for 1986 movie unicron in both modes.

Energon Galvatron while it needed more poseabilty, the toy itself it currently worth over $200+ on the secondary market,so clearly the majority love this toy & are willing to shell out the big bucks to buy it.
I doubt that, and if it's at all true, then I wish I had gotten him back in the day so that I could sell him. (As it is, I'm trying to sell off EnerMegs.)

Animated I'll give you, but Movie Decepticons can mingle in pretty well with just about anybody. (I should get a picture of my shelf for proof.)

Gotta agree on Blackarachnia. She's the only one I picked up from that entire line, and she's an awesome toy. Got her again when she came out in her Universe colors (and was also the only toy I got from that line).
