Box from Dom came in yesterday. Good ol' Dom is donating a couple of Cliffjumpers for my molding projects. In addition to said donations I found a PCC Autobot (I don't know his name. Some tank guy), Cyberverse Prime Breakdown, and some other disassembled figures. And a Warhamster book.

Box from Ami Ami with figma Karen Araragi and Tsukihi Araragi arrived! With a now-intact Karen, plus Tsukihi, I've completed the Fire Sisters duo, not to mention the Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari figma collection (no others are currently scheduled to come out, though I still believe we could get a Subaru at some point. Black Hanekawa would be nice too). Haven't un-boxed them yet, but I'll be ginger with them after what happened to my previous Karen, and they should be fun, regardless.

Also grabbed another blue-bag-blind-bag Pony, got sparkly Fluttershy. Now that these things are in a store where I can easily impulse-buy them when I swing by to pick up random shit after work, they're going to become a serious sickness for me.

I took a walk to Harrison's the other day, and hit the nearby Marshalls, which had some Iron Man figures that I have not seen before.

-Hammer drone concept figure: Marvel movie "concept" figures are based on early design sketches done for the movies. The Hammer drone has swappable whips and saws. Aside from some restricted articulation in the hips, this is a solid toy. I bought it for customizing (in to a Cybertronian guardian drone). But, the figure has enough merits on its own to be worth seeking out. I was not even away of the wave that this figure shipped with, which numbers in to the forties. Apparently, "Transformers" was not the only line to suffer poor distribution in the closing months of 2010.

-some Iron Man figure with back mounted saw blades. I dunno. This is a recolour of the dive armour Iron Man from the first wave. The saw blades are a weal accessorie, complete with weak jointing. But, I bought this for the base figure, which I have vague plans to customize.

Dom
-would almost prefer rare, but good, toys to well distributed, but badly made, toys.

There were entire waves of both Iron Man 2 and Thor toylines that had problems being distributed--because, once again, stores over-ordered the first couple waves and let them rot. I'm not kidding when I say during last summer, I was still seeing first-wave IM2 toys in clearance aisles. I have no idea if the Amazing Spiderman toyline ever had a third wave, because I've been seeing the crappy first wave rot forever. (I wouldn't be surprised though. That entire line was bad, save for one Spiderman.)

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I am still finding Joes that I never knew existed. (On a related note, if anybody has a spare 25A Mutt and Junkyard, let me know. Customizing calls.)

And, the other day, I grabbed a Kre-O Optimus Prime at Marshalls. It was marked down to $20, which I consider a fair price for 5 Kreons. (I really like Bluestreak after all.) I am planning to sell the Optimus and Megatron set bricks. If anybody wants them, let me know.

My latest haul:

-a significant amount of A+ certifcation study material....with more to come!

Yeah, that is not much fun. But, if I land a better job, then I can have even more fun later. So....

Power Rangers Mega Force Morphin’ Vehicles: Oh hey, these are kind of cute. The ‘Morphin Vehicles’ from Samurai were pretty lame: Cheap, simple chunks that didn’t do much and surprised me that they sold at the same price point as the action figures. These new ones for ‘Mega Force’ (Angels apparently not being an acceptable superhero aesthetic in western culture, Goseiger just gets turned into generic Power Rangers?) however are significantly more interesting, being little vehicles that flip open Jumpstarter-style into robotic rangers. Plus Target was clearancing ALL their Morphin Vehicles, so even though these are brand-new, they got included as well, and were less than five bucks each! So I grabbed Gosei Knight (since I love his design and probably will never see his action figure on the pegs) and Gosei Blue (since I wanted an actual Ranger to go along, and they didn’t have that bitchin’-looking black beetle vehicle). They’re pretty simple, having little articulation in Ranger mode and looking more than a little goofy, and the paint on Blue is a little naff, but I’d say they’re worth the cheap price in amusement value, especially considering I don’t particularly care about Goseiger (not the way I did about Shinkenger that had me buying a few Samurai toys).

Also paid five bucks for the download of the English release of Croixleur, a cute lil’ dungeon-hack-and-slash that Nyu Media saw fit to bring over here. It’s worth as much for a fun game as it is for supporting more stuff like this being released in English (an official, English release of Melty Blood is something I dream of. Under Night In-Birth, when it hits consoles, is acceptable as well).

Apparently, since Nickelodeon splits their Power Ranger seasons into two seasons of 20 episodes, Goseiger is only getting adapted for the first half of Megaforce. The second half will be Gokaiger. They're seriously just going to Mighty Morphin' this shit.

Yeah, I'd heard about that. We still aren't sure if the second half of Mega Force will actually transition to the Gokaiger suits, or if they'll suffer the fate of Dairanger. I really hope they don't, I would totally buy action figures of the Gokaigers, I frelling love those suit designs.

The other question is if they'll make any attempt at selling Ranger Keys over here, or if the Gokaiger parts of Mega Force will just have them using cards to transform instead. I know I would buy a ton of the keys.

replacement FOC Starscream from Amazon.com
Uncharted for PS3
TFP Ultra Magnus voyager class - TJ Maxx for $13, not terrible but very budget-y from lack of paint and from a clever transformation that peters out in a few areas.
TFP Rumble dlx - TJ Maxx for $7, much better than I expected, and the paint looks nice. Not very Rumble OR Frenzy in design, but some cues like the chest circles are there, and of course it does have the pounders.
TFP Kup dlx - Ross for $6, much better than I expected, nice transformation and very good proportions in bot mode. Like G1 Kup, there's no truck bed. :p
TFP Vehicon dlx - Ross for $6, my 5th and final one.
TRU-exclusive Star Wars Speeder Bike set x2 - Buy one get one half off, my 3rd and 4th entries on this excellent piece.

It's in the middle, I've heard from other folks now with the same problem, but the replacement I got from Amazon.com was fine.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?
