What the hell did the cop want money for, then? Do you owe money to the mob or something? What's next, kneecap-breaking? Toy-taking?
Unpaid fees, mostly regarding my accident in June. Yeah. Well, it wasn't just me--it was my girlfriend, too, who got stopped a couple times because her inspection was out, and never took care of it. (The car won't pass inspection, and we haven't had the money to get things on it fixed.)

Damn do I understand that. It always seems to come back and bite you in the ass doesn't it? Thankfully, the last fallout from my accident wrapped itself up back in May. So things are somewhat normalized, to a point.
Anyway, hope things get sorted out for you soon.

Thanks guys. It sucks, but I'll get over it. It's just money.

SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Meteor: I was ordering a Christmas gift for my brother from Osaka-based online toy shop ‘Jungle’, and they happened to have an SHF Meteor for fairly cheap (it was technically a display model), so I bit and had Kamen Rider Disco Bruce Lee included. As I already knew (and why I’d been wary of paying full price for so long), this isn’t the *best* Figuarts we could’ve gotten of Meteor, the head-sculpt is noticeably lacking. The rest of the toy is great, the design lends itself to very free posability (save the right shoulder somewhat restricted by his shoulderpad) for awesome Jeet Kun Do poses, and he includes alternate parts for his Driver and Meteor Galaxy, so you can display him with his switch in either or. He also comes with the Hulashake Foodroid in both modes, just for funsies. Also, naturally, a boatload of hands, including ones for Jeet Kun Do stances, and to recreate his ‘Your fate is mine to decide’ catchphrase. Iffy headsculpt (and disappointing lack of planet-punch accessories) aside, this is a fun Figuarts of a character I really liked, so it was worth the purchase on that end.

GDO Wheelie (x2) and since I was getting him I finally pulled the trigger on Swerve. Both are exactly what I expected. I do like the paint jobs on both of them and the new alt modes do really seem to work for the characters. I do wish Wheelie's weapon was actually able to be held with both hands though.

Treated myself to a Transformers Prime figure today: Knock Out. Anyone remember when $15 would net you something larger than a deluxe? Was Beast Machines the last time we actually had that price point? This guy cost me $16 at Target, and that reminded me why I've collected so little this year.

Was it at least a decent figure? I plan on doing a custom "Classics" version using the Bluestreak mold.

Here's what I got:
-Money
(more than enough to ship out Prowl's box...sorry about that; after this snowstorm subsides I'll get it out)
-FOC Bruticus! Not bad. I had the G2 one already, but this is neat too!
-Robert E. Howard Conan original story collection, vol. 1. I'm playing a Barbarian in a D&D campaign now, so I figure I could use some inspiration, and tossed this on my list.

My Christmas haulage:
Cowboy Bebop Complete Collection (replacing the one I had that mysteriously disappeared sometime last year. Mystery for the ages.)
Tie!
San Francisco 49ers jersey - Because I need something to watch games in, now I'm just hoping they don't totally blow the playoffs.
Extended-capacity (50 round) magazines for my airsoft M9 Cutlass Specials. Meaning I really have no excuse for not taking these out for games with my friends now.
Dish Rack! I've proved utterly incapable of finding these things in stores so my parents did the work for me, apparently.
32" LED TV - Oh sweet baby Jesus yes. I'm a horrible person and my parents are way, way too good for me, they bought me a new TV with all the Hi-Def resmolutions I could need. I need to grab some HDMI cables so I can hook up my PS3 to this properly, but then it's gonna be solid HD gaming and grabbing BluRays so I can enjoy those too. Now I need to see how much more I have to pay the cable company to get the HD output from them (my current plan/box is the most cheapass option they had, the cable box doesn't even have a slot for HDMI).
Also, a Christmas present to me from myself arrived: Amazon-exclusive-deco Jetwing Optimus Prime! The base price for this thing is like $104, and it got discounted down to like $74 a while back. Then, last week, for like three days, Amazon had it on sale for $52 (free shipping)! Now, I've wanted the Buster Optimus Prime mold for some time, and if ever there was a time to bite, this was it. Well worth it, this is one hell of a toy. The transformation almost doesn't live up to the hype of MOST COMPLEX TRANSFORMER EVAR, it's actually rather intutive; the only part I needed to check the instructions on was the exact position his head needed to go in for vehicle mode. After my first go, I was able to get this thing transformed in just a few minutes, guys like Human Alliance Roadbuster or ROTF Mixmaster are far more 'challenging' than this thing. It's fine though, it's an extremely well-designed toy, in terms of how the mass of the truck shifts, or little things like the forearm panels being able to slide on their pins, or the way the grill parts all compress for the feet. The way the jetwing pack attaches to robot mode sells the 'well-designed' level a lot too, repurposing the clips that hold the arms together in vehicle mode to clip the guns to them, and the heel extensions he has purely to let this top-heavy piece of wingy-chaingunny insanity stand up (which, incidentally, has a lot of superficial structural parallels to Cybertron Prime). I absolutely love this thing, and it's solidfied as the Last Movie Optimus Prime I Will Ever Need.
Oh yeah, and I bought Negima! Vol. 36 at Barnes & Noble last week, since I got back into reading that series (remembered how much I love it), and wanted to catch up. Also saw/grabbed Girl Friends collection 1, because if modern classics of the yuri genre are getting published over here, I want to be a part of that. I think this volume might finally top Love Hina Volume 6 for worst volume-ending cliffhanger in a girly romance manga, by the way.
