The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

That's basically Godbomber. It'd be interesting to see them skip over the Super Mode entirely and have it go straight to God Ginrai, but seems even less likely given that Western audiences are barely familiar with the Apex Armor. Though there's no way it could be any cheaper than G1 Godbomber.
That would be interesting though, and would push the Combiner Wars gimmick in one more potential direction (Scramble City limbs, in-box armor on Magnus, separate extra single guy turning into armor for Optimus). I know it's all pure speculation at this point, but it really does turn up my enthusiasm for the line.

I would have liked to see Combiners Wars Megatron and Optimus be Leader scaled toys. that could combine with Four of the Voyager scaled Combiners Wars toys.
With the Legends & Basic scaled Combiners wars toys forming the gestalt targetmasters, shields, armor parts,rocket boosters, shoulder canons,feet, hands,etc..
