July Hauls!

Post by BWprowl »

Because it's July!

Got a package from Six today! RTS 'Solar Storm Grappel', but we all know who he really is. Everyone's favorite orange architect is mine finally (loved this mold as Inferno) just in time to hang out with the Classics Constructicons I got the other day, great. His hands suck in that 'open' pose thing Hasbro was going through at the time, and only part of one detail on the arms being painted silver, not to mention his kind of annoying lack of any weapon that isn't his crane arm, but dammit he's an architect, not a soldier! Cool toy, been on my list for some time. Also had the RTS Windcharger I bought from him, so good on that one as well. And since Six is a bro he kicked in a GI Joe that 'he couldn't sell' (don't know how, this thing's some badass purple and bright red Sky Viper or some shit, with a bigass flight harness, two cool guns, and flippers, FLIPPERS strapped to the backs of his legs! Rad as hell. There was also a broken Drill Bit (Cybertron Metroplex's Mini-Con) in there, so uh, thanks? Plus the copy of Six's 'Termina' CD I ordered from him, and all his other CD's because again, he's a bro. I love the copy/'story' behind the John Carpenter EP, friggin' brilliant. I promise to check these out. Thanks a bunch Six, especially for putting up with me, I know I could be a whiny bitch about these things.

I am pretty sure I somehow ended up with that from Dom, so he's your problem now!

Oh, come on, it was only, what, a year ago that I sold it to you? I'm a dick and I know it.

I think everybody got their fill on that Viper guy, because they rereleased him in ROC or something and he got really easy to find. Plus, GI Joe is selling like shit on eBay (a lot of faith has been lost from the Retaliation delay, even now) so it's hard.

I Went to various big retail stores yesterday,I didn't buy anything but I did see a whole bunch of newer TF stuff out their. TRU had that Ultimate BH Optimus that looked even worse in person. I managed to see those 16 inch & 17 inch action masters styled BH Optimus & Bumblebee figures. I saw the tripple changers constructibots for bumblebee & Blitzwing.

Apparently it looks like BH Ultimate or leader sized Predaking will be coming in his own assortment box. He won't be shipped & labeled wave 2 along side BH ultimate Optimus. due to ultimate uptimus being 50+ bigger in scale compared to BH Ultimate Predaking.

BH ultimate Optimus reminds me of the TFA Ultimate optimus toy. as both toys were made simplified & blatantly catered/aimed at toddlers under the age of 4,for the huge/exspensive TF wish list christmas gift.

BH Ultimate Predaking while more simplified in transformation compared to his voyager toy, does have higher end sculpt meant for a older kid/teenager buying audience. BH Ultimate Predaking's toy reminds me of the TFA Leader sized toys sculpt/engineering/transformations.

TRU in my areas local stores are the only ones stocking those BH Kreon toys. Walmart stores don't appear to be stocking BH Kreo on shelves. Walmart.com is selling BH Kreon on their site. Target in my area only is stocking those Kreon 4-in-1 combiners sets. Kmart isn't stocking anymore Kreo/kreon in my areas stores.

TRU store employees or th Hasbro crew that stocks shelves,Put the constructibots next to the TF action figures. I think constructibots belong in the building blocks aisle next to kreo/kreon.

Picked up BH Skystalker, adding another member to my Predacon pack. I like Skystalker more than I thought I would, mainly because there's more going on in his transformation than 'stands up' like I initially thought. Waist slides together, hands swap out, shoulders click into place with the wings, and the subtle shifting of the chest section to accomodate the head transformation is effective. And even if both modes aren't terribly differentiated, they at least look nice. Skystalker has a very classy ice-themed color scheme that makes good use of the swirly BH plastic, it's quite unique from the eye-catching garishness of his teammates. His wings are absolutely wonderful pieces, making use of swivels along segments of them, and giving him options for pointing the decent disc-launch gimmick over his shoulders. Really, the beast mode in general just makes for a very cool, posable little dragon toy. I also like the understated brass-knuckle weapon from his tail tip, rather than just yanking the whole tail off and using it as a whip or something lame. He doesn't do a whole hell of a lot, but he does it well, and can't be faulted for it. And he looks good with the other Predacons, whom I'm up to having a five-man Sentai-style team of now. I should put them in coordinated rollcall poses.

Restoration yielded two Generations Red Alerts. A third one is missing an arm and the fourth one is completely disassembled (I was gonna mold it). I might try again at the Breakdown heads and see if I can create another custom Breakdown. This time I'll cover the Autobot logo on the chest with a rubsign and put the Decepticon sticker on the hood. And I'll also cover up the license plate "Alert". Maybe a sticker that reads "brkdown"

They shut my power off yesterday but it's getting turned back on in a few days.

Also a friend of mine gave me a blue DSi. So, hey, another new DSi to replace the one Prowl sold me that got stolen!

Eat all the food in the fridge! Conserve the power on your laptop! Try not to think about the fact that it's Summer (if I lost the electricity to power my air conditioner right now, in Fresno's 115-degree heat, I would die)! Just, uh, read books for entertainment! You've endured worse before, you can endure this!

At this point I wonder if getting another DS is a good idea, given that you've had such rotten luck with them in the past. Not that they're a bad little system to have on hand.

Anyway, I picked up the TFPrime Beast Hunters Apex Hunter Armor w/Breakdown, since Target had one left clearanced down to $13 (as well as hordes of Smokescreen's Sky Claw, which isn't nearly as cool as this thing), and this toy had tempted me at twenty bucks before, so it was a logical choice. It's a nifty little vehicle, if decidedly on the simple side. Auto-transformation of the upper body is nice, and there's a well-thought-out couple of areas to put the new big horkin' multi-missile launcher (including having a couple of small pegs so that the Cyberverse Breakdown toy that comes with this can *hold* it in his hand, if you're insane enough). Otherwise it's a big, spiky, chunky robot-suit with fun clampy-claws and a decent 'Battle Platform' mode. Plus I just find something appealing about a robot piloting a larger robot. Also, if I understand right, cartoon villain Silas ends up piloting Breakdown's body later on in the show, so this toy could conceivably be Silas piloting Breakdown piloting the Apex Armor. Yo Dawg. Fun toy, at least worth clearance price. Definitely better than that hulked-out MMPR Red Ranger I was shamefully tempted by (I have the Figuarts version on pre-order, there is no reason to want to own this one, even for a clearanced-down ten dollars!).

I got a new deck! Does that count? Damn thing was a steal at just the cost of the wood, but it did come with some serious fuckin' assembly required. It is a damn good thing that my brother's in construction, or this fixer-upper house I bought would literally be the death of me.

As a bonus with the deck, I got a huge pile of rotted wood garbage that used to be an old deck! Aw yeah.

That was the joke we always made when demolishing a wall or something in my house. "Firewood!"
