I'm pretty sure there's a Tailhook joke in there somewhere.

I can't believe I never thought of a GI Joe Village People before. I bet they've got all the members, right??
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did

Lessee....
-Spirit
-Wildbill
-Tollbooth
-Law (or Widescope)
-Stretcher (or Doc)
-Grunt
Yup. And, if you got with Doc (slightly less appropriate than Stretcher), if can be done with the sacred pre-87 characters.

Re: GI Joe General
Back when I was fully into buying GI Joe right when the 25A line was getting under way, I went in fully intending to build a set of Village People Joes. I know I at least got Spirit and Wild Bill specifically for this reason (Shipwreck I wanted anyway, and I never found Law).

Re: GI Joe General
The never made Tollbooth, Law, Widescope, or Stretcher in 25A style. And, Doc was a mail-away that Hasbro's vendor cocked up whe distributing.

Re: GI Joe General
What? I'm almost certain a 25A Law & Order were released... Wait, no, I think they finally came out around the same time as the Renegades line was sharing space with the 30th Anniversary stuff (they were basically the same line, I think?), the wave with the impossible-to-find Storm Shadow. Yeah, I was looking for it at the time, not because I cared about making Village People anymore (in fact I think I'd sold my Spirit to you by then) but because a friend of mine in the military had just gotten back from the sandbox, and he happened to be an MP, so I thought he might be amused by it.Dominic wrote:The never made Tollbooth, Law, Widescope, or Stretcher in 25A style. Reminds me Dom, you ever get that little Law & Order Kre-O set? I think my local TRU still has one around...

Re: GI Joe General
I am actually skipping Joe Kre-O sets. Between trying to cut back on toys, save money and generally not being that in to "GI Joe" any more, I have little reason to be buying them.
I had forgotten about "Renegades" Law and Order. I saw it once or twice, but skipped it for various reasons despite having a fondness for the character.

-notes how well moulded the dog in that set is.

Re: GI Joe General
Yeah, and even all of that was a weird continuation of POC, which was a weird not-extension of the ROC line...I think they finally came out around the same time as the Renegades line was sharing space with the 30th Anniversary stuff (they were basically the same line, I think?)
Hasbro (or retailers?) didn't have enough faith in Renegades to sell it as a full-blown toyline, the way they are with Prime. It worked out, because people who didn't like Renegades still wanted the toys!
