Re: February Hauls
You Kreo people. Man, I do NOT get it.
Soooooooooooooo more hauls.
TRU is having bogo50%off on all Star Wars, and then all Hasbro SW figures are about $5 on sale as well, so bonanza!
Star Wars Vintage Collection Darth Sidious - not bad, much nicer than pics and the awful packaged look had me believing. Not perfect, but for standing around looking menacing with a hood pulled down to his nose, home run.
SW TVC deleted scene Leia
SW TVC Battle Droids x3
SW The Clone Wars phase 2 armor Commander Cody - figure itself is ok, and it has movable ankles where the other use of this body doesn't, plus comes with a better paint job and a removable movie-style flight mini-pack, but also comes with a big ugly flightpack from 2011 Jetpack Rex which means the style doesn't match and doesn't even fit this figure (the shoulder antenna is in the way) and then it has an empty chest holster.
SW TCW phase 2 Clone Trooper x2
Van Halen - Fair Warning
For my 7th anniversary with Sideshow, they gave me $35 gift cert, so I used it to buy:
7x Sideshow 1:6 scale figure crotch stands - the older figures come with the shitty doll-style waist stands which are a pain in the ass to work with so those are getting replaced wherever possible.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I think it's less "I love Kreo" and more "I love Kicker."

Is this the one that had that ridiculous fur shrug thing?JediTricks wrote:Star Wars Vintage Collection Darth Sidious - not bad, much nicer than pics and the awful packaged look had me believing. Not perfect, but for standing around looking menacing with a hood pulled down to his nose, home run.
There's some new Sideous toys out right now that actually look good, but with the recent announcement about the Star Wars: Black line, I'm inclined to sit back and wait for a kickass six-inch Sideous to come out. (the Sandtrooper they've shown off from that line looks in-fucking-credible)
This. This was only the second Kre-O set I've bought, the previous one being the the little $8 Optimus Prime I bought way back when it first came out to 'try out' the line and decide it wasn't for me. But a set that includes a cute lil' Lego-Minifigure-ish representation of who's at least in my top 5 Transformers characters ever? I'll hella take that ride (plus, for what it's worth, the Optimus Prime in this set is about a jillion times better than that little one from way back).Onslaught Six wrote:I think it's less "I love Kreo" and more "I love Kicker."

There was a lot of Kreo in that post, not just Kicker.Onslaught Six wrote:I think it's less "I love Kreo" and more "I love Kicker."
No, that would be a a Revenge of the Sith figure, this is his black duds from Ep 1, totally normal looking and basically the Emperor outfit from the Original Trilogy. It's also the only Sidious figure we've had in a year. They're only doing about 8 to 12 Black Series 6-inch figures per year, and of those only 25% are prequels, so it could be a while.BWprowl wrote:Is this the one that had that ridiculous fur shrug thing?

Kre-O is not only a bit cheaper. But, the figures are actually better (having more points of articulation). Just sayin'....

I don't buy Lego, I stopped buying Lego about 7 years ago or so, and am about to sell off my bulk Lego.Dominic wrote:You buy Legos.

Past tense. My point though was more about the odd uprising of Kreo fans since year 2 of Transformers Kreo started coming out, and GI Joe Kreo came on the horizon.Dominic wrote:My mistake. I could have sworn you were a Lego fan.....

Re: February Hauls
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that there's even a year 2 to begin with--it sends the message from Hasbro that these dudes are a thing that they at least intend to continue for a while, unlike stuff like BTR which was clearly an "I guess marketing wants us to do this now" line. (I have a sneaking suspicion that the line was as bad as it was because the people designing it didn't want to do it. If the line fails and gets cancelled, they'd be moved to something else.)JediTricks wrote:Past tense.
