Interesting. Because the comic is portraying them more as Shockwave's personal army (which would technically make them a subset of the Decepticons).

Yeah, that's how they originate, but it looks like they break free of his control and run wild. I figured since the Decepticons are also getting remolded "Beast Hunting" toys in the line, that the Preds would be fighting against everybody.

Could be. Comic story ain't over yet so who knows where that will end up for the beast bots?

Yeah, I'm just going by the promos for the show. They make it look like the Preds break free from Shockles' control.

Do we really need subfaction logos? I mean, how many logos can you slap onto something before it just starts looking ridiculous? We didn't really start getting into this stuff until the later end of BM with the Dinobots when they had their own logo. I mean, really the standard two factions aren't enough? And I'm talking subfactions, so as to differentiate from situations like the UT where there were actually three separate factions with the minicons. Because, even then you still only had one logo on a toy at any given time.

FOC Grimlock has a Lightning Strike Coalition logo on his bot chest, and an Autobot logo on his dino head, it's a bit much.
