So, uh... Prime's canceled after 13 more episodes.

No noses? No problem! Zombiebots? Sure, why not. A confusing new canon that allows loose and contradictory material? And now a new sequel show with an entirely different art style that takes place way in the future!

So, uh... Prime's canceled after 13 more episodes.

13 episodes of Beast Humpers and then gone.

Here's what I don't get, they already have an up-and-running studio with a fully functional set of digital storytelling tools. They now have not one but 2 sets of fully developed character models, so development is not necessary, only writing and voice acting. Why then would Hasbro let the brand go a year and a half without entertainment support? Is the writing too expensive? Get cheaper writers, not like the ones that are there are so great that they're bringing in the big audiences anyway. It seems like that's a lot of investment to just throw out and start all over on another 18-month development cycle, not to mention what it'll do to the already splintered TF toy brands.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

*Breaks out the champagne and party hats*

Here's to waiting 18 months for a new TF cartoon that isn't Prime!

That said, I'm with you in finding this very weird. I was under the impression that, for all the fault guys like you and I find with it, the cartoon was performing pretty well. Maybe they figure paying to actually renew the series wouldn't be a worthwhile investment, and want to see if it can stand on just reruns? About all I know about cartoon production is that it sucks to be Greg Weisman, so I really can't offer any insight into what Hasbro's thinking on this one.

Gritty, hardcore, War for Cybertron cartoon? Ooh, maybe they'll do that Bayformers Animated Series I mentioned thinking would be cool a while back, to tie into Trans4mers coming out!

No shit! Thank god this isn't Disney or they'd fuck it up the way they did Gargoyles.

-Would also like to see a TRONesque, WFC/FoC style cartoon.

And W.I.T.C.H.! And even after he left Disney, they STILL found a way to screw him by buying Marvel and canceling Spectacular Spider-Man out from under him! And now Cartoon Network is canceling Young Justice!

I need to track down whatever gypsy Greg Weisman pissed off and convince her to undo the curse that's clearly been placed on him. I just feel sorry for the guy at this point.

I remember there was an interview with one of the producers or writers near the end of the second season where they said that they had planned out the series to be 3 seasons and that they had a conclusion in mind for the 3rd season. They didn't rule out a 4th season at the time, but from what they said, really not surprised they're wrapping it up.

I wouldn't be surprised if Beast Hunters were replaced with something akin to Beast Machines, or Energon, in relation to BW or Armada. In other words, "Beast Hunters" may end, but it could very well be replaced by a "new" show that has a different name, but functionally takes place in the same universe and continues the story of the preceeding series.

I also really don't like it when people say a show got "cancelled," sometimes, because that implies that every TV show in the history of ever is DESTINED to run for fucking ever, like it's the Simpsons or something. It's like, sometimes shows should just be finite.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I'm sorry to see it end. I've enjoyed the show quite a bit, now that I've finally gotten into it.

Well I think most of the time they say that because most shows tend to just keep going until the ratings dry up and some network exec does cancel it. There are exceptions like most of the Trek and Buffy series but let's face it, most TF shows have ended because they were cancelled rather than just having "reached their end". There are exceptions of course, like Beast Machines, RID, the Unicron Trilogy...

Then you get shows like Friends, Cheers, Frasier, the Simpsons and South Park that go on indefinitely until they get cancelled. Simpsons is in it's like 30th year or something and still going. South Park is already up to like season 18 or something. Cheers went for 11 years and Friends is a close second or tie to that. So yeah, sometimes shows do just keep going.

This should come as no surprise,As I saw news regarding this a few months ago & stated it in a thread here on TFVIEWS. Almost everyone stated I was wrong & asked me to provide links. I couldn't find the links because they were months old. finding months old source links is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

Anyways this should come as no surprise & it definately wasn't a shocker to me. As I saw news regarding this. Also,I base all my speculation off past events. Hasbro Has been canceling main & Sub TF toy line whenever a Newer TF movie year happens. Usually the main/sub TF toy line+ TF cartoon series gets canceled 8+months before the Newer TF movie arrive in theathres.

The main reason Hasbro is canceling the Beasthunters toy line+cartoon series is due to the 2014 June TF movie. Since the TF movie toys rake in the most cash. Hasbro needs 7+ months for the manufactoring plants over seas to create all these TF4 movie toys well in advance. Hasbro also wants to make sure those large retail store chains in America are not over loaded with beast hunters shelf/peg warmers in may/june 2014. Because in 2011 most USA retail stores refused to stock the DOTM toys on pegs/shelves due to TF2 movie toys still warming pegs/shelves in may/june 2011.

My guess is the Generations 2013 & 2014 toys won't get canceled as these toys sell quicky & 2014 is the 30th anniversary. I speculate that the newer TF cartoon series+toy line will have a classics/generations feel/story/designs to it.

That's not really how that thread went. At the time, there wasn't any official confirmation if there would be a fourth season or not, just a comment from voice actor Jeffrey Combs who had actually said there would be a 4th season, which O6 was able to find and provided a link to in that thread.
