Big Lots! has Legends

Post by Shockwave »

So I was shopping with the 'rents this weekend. We went to Big Lots! to look at deals on couches and they wound up getting me some Legends Transformers for stocking stuffers. They're in Generations packaging and come with the GDO weapons. They had the tank G2 Megatron, G1 Optimus with the Motorbreath sword, RTS Starscream with the GDO Thundercracker guns, and Bumblebee (striped repaint of the Legends Bumblebee/Cliffjumber/Goldbug mold).

Shockwave
-Disassembled GDO Thundercracker and Bluestreak for recasting.

Indeed. But the ensuing conversation about getting toys for Christmas was worth it and might even yield me getting Henkei Rodimus under the tree.

Thanks for the heads-up about the Legends figures. My local Big Lots had a lot of Bumbleebees (which I have), a few Starscreams (which I have) and had one Optimus Prime, which I didn't have. I can't believe these things are $5 now though. And why does he have MotorMaster's sword? Was the figure repainted as Motormaster at some point?

Haven't they always been $5? Seems like as long as I've been buying them (around the first Movie) that's how much they cost, though I could be wrong.

Anyway, yeah, the sword was originally included with a Motormaster repaint of that mold (hilariously named 'Motorbreath') that was in that set of Asia-exclusive Generations toys that TRUs over here also got. All the recolored Legends got new accessories.

They were about $3-4 before; the jump to $5 seemed to hit around DOTM, with Cyberverse's big push. Now they're almost $6 in some places.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I'm actually going to do an Energon Saber recolor of it in clear blue with a silver handle.

As Prowl said, Motormaster "Motorbreath" as he's carded, was indeed released and is currently available at Toys R Us along with the others, Thundercracker, Hoist (Trailbreaker repaint) and Bluestreak.

I need to visit TRU then. "Motorbreath" is a terrible name though.

Dollar General stores also Have the G-1 character legends of optimus with the GDO motormaster Sword,Starscream with the GDO holes in the jet wings & the extra seeker missle launchers. I think these are priced around $3.99 each. Their is also G-2 Megatron & a bumblebee in the assortment box.
