The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone! Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

I dunno. More splashes of color? More detailing? I know Skywarp's technically 'black', but I've always liked it when they played up his purple details as well. it looks nice. Better than ENTIRELY BLACK like the MP, anyway.
He's not entirely black, he's got purple where he's supposed to get purple--hands/forearms, shins, wings. Admittedly the feet should be purple too. But the rest is spot-on.
I think you're just thinking he has more black than he does because of the samurai sword sheathe kibble.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I think it's more because I'm used to Classics Skywarp, who has quite a bit more purple (Feet, more on his shins, upper arms, the upper portions of the guns), plus a bit more silver on the chest, and it looks really good to me. Next to him, MasterWarp just looks like a solid mass of black with purple gloves. It's a *much* less interesting color scheme.
Plus, like I said, the mold doesn't really look that good me in the first place. Especially not for sixty bucks. I better *love* a toy for that much.
See, I'm not nuts about it, either. Really had a good long in-package stare-down at the one I picked up for Spockwave, but I'm just not quite in love with this one yet.
Now, should they hang out here long enough to go on clearance, you better believe I'll bite just on general principle, but it's just not looking like sixty bucks worth of fun.

I bought one a few days ago for $25 at one of my local Wal-Marts. They had about 20 of the things when they were $60, and there were still about 8-10 on the shelf in the clearance aisle.
