the stupid ideas thread

Post by Dominic »

Okay, this is just for fun.

Every fan has bad ideas about the franchise. Thankfully, most of those ideas never come to fuition. This thread is a chance for us to confess our dirty, filthy, fandom thoughts and fears.

Let me go first.

Shattered Glass: Movie style!

Think about it. It would be just like the lame hackneyed idea for the 2009 Convention set, but using movie toys! Think about it, heroic Barricade v/s evil Bumblebee. Blackout, would be a heroic warrior who uses his frightening visage to drive humans away from the impending fight! Ratchet would be a cruel torturer who uses knowledge of other species to hurt captured prisoners.

Dom

Oh, oh! I gotanotheroneohmygod!

How about another "Shattered Glass" Bumblebee, using the old VW mold? Eh? Eh? C'mon, you know you can see it! He could be red, white and black!

Dom
-or, maybe a Panzer named Bumblebee.

Both in response to Scourge's idea and as a stupid idea all its own:

Remember Webdiver and Daigander? They were takara made transforming toys that doubled as videogames (their main toys could plug into a TV and act as controllers, and extra toys could form weapons for the figure and in-game). I'd LOVE to see a modern take on that.

Well, see, that, though, that's an interesting idea.

However, this is a stupid idea:

Shattered Glass Nemesis Prime travels back through his universe's history to save Earth's greatest hero, Adolph Hitler, from the Maximal-augmented armies of the notorious despot, Anne Frank!

Reminds me of a short story I penned in 8th grade that got me sent to the dean's office, when I wrote a story where a time travel accident caused Ayn Rand, Anne Frank and Anne Rice to combine into one and then tried to write a memoir. Nothing like arch-libertarian homosexual vampires hiding from nazis!

No, I suppose there was nothing quite like that...

I assume you were sent to the dean's office so he could say "Well done, young man." Because that's actually kinda awesome.

No, they accused me of somehow being antisemetic (I HAVE gone on record as saying that Anne Frank is a shitty writer and that the translation from Dutch or whatever language she wrote in, to English, added way too much purple prose), so I went and rounded up my Jewish best friend, my gay friend, my undead friend, and I had them call up my blog to read my libertarian rantings.

Granted, I hate objectivists, but I'm still a libertarian.
