August Hauls

Post by Shockwave »

Well I got these on Saturday so they can't count as a July haul. ROTF Rampage and Dirt Boss. Have yet to crack them open.

Non-TF haul: picked up Doctor Who Planet of the Dead on DVD. While I'm glad the RTD era is coming to an end, I'm still enjoying the show enough to watch it. Here's hoping the episode is good.

I haven't bought a Transformer since June 9... must be going cold turkey or something. :) Went looking back through the old haul threads to check the date. Gotta remedy the lack of purchases soon.

I just wish the current Dr. Who figures didn't suck so much. Sure they look great, but they're basically "staction figures". Bah.

B..but they're so neat looking!

I just wish they weren't so 'spensive. I've got a handful..Doctors Four through Six, Nine and Ten, and Martha, Donna Noble (because Catherine Tate action figure for the win), Captain Jack, and, like six friggin' Daleks. One of which is remote control fun. And the Genesis Ark. All around pretty cool. Man, do I ever want that Cyberman set, though. I love Cybermen more than Daleks usually, no idea how I wound up with so many of them.

Oh, hauls. My dad gave me a sword yesterday. Not entirely sure what I'm gonna do with it, but I'm sure I'll find something. Besides, better to have a sword and not need it, y'know?

On Saturday, my friend Ken calls me up and tells me he found a Dreamcast at a yard sale, complete, for like five bucks. He bought it and gave it to me! Awesome system, no copy protection--just download the games and burn them. Hell yeah.

And then I bought Chromia. Ew.

And to make up for that, I bought the last X-Men Origins: Wolverine Comic Deadpool figure. It's Deadpool! I paid too much for him, but I don't care.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

My first box day!

Got a box from Dom today, we'd arranged a trade about a week ago. What'd I get? Why, nothing less than Transformers Superlink Microman Kicker! Awesome, I've wanted one of these things forever. In fact, I'll hold off on thoughts now because I think I want to do a proper review of him later.

Oh, and Dom's awesome, he went way beyond my expectations for this. Along with Kicker, he threw in the GI Joe Rise of Cobra novel (I laughed) and an SCF Armada Cyclonus repainted in his Energon colors (Awesome, major points for series synergy with Kicker), as well as an SCF Ironhide in Diaclone colors. Dom, you're amazing, I'm going to post nice things about you in the trade feedback thread.

Oh, and I got an Oreskaband CD today too.

Great haul Onslaught.

And Prowl, now worries. With the amount of customs I do, every so often, I send them out. (I just wish I did not send so many out before getting the camera phone.)

If you like perverted toys, you should get Agent Helix for "Rise of Cobra". That toy is.....pervy.

Yes, I got some new "Rise of Cobra" toys these past few weeks:

Parisian Vacation Snakeeys (x2, one for customizing)
Parisian Encounter Storm Shadow (customizing)
Cobra Commander
Agent Helix (too damned funny to pass up, expect a rant about this character soon)
Pit Commando (customizer's buffet)

Dom
-would not think SE and SS were so funny if not for the Paris thing.

Further broke my "in the movie only" rule and bought scout class Depthcharge. I like it. A lot. It's a small toy, but has a complex and interesting transformation and an alt mode that's cool. Also got cannon Bumblebee. It's completely different from regular deluxe version, but sucks copiously. It doesn't really lock together very well in robot mode, and doesn't seem able to take vehicle form in such a way that allows all four wheels to have access to any surface. Being the huge bee fan that I am, I hate to bag on a bee figure, but this one is lackluster at best. It doesn't add anything to the character, doesn't represent the movie design. I am just disappointed with this.

Head-sculpt is pretty good though. Maybe swap it on to a regular BB figure?

And, tonight, I will be having a great haul....thanks to Prowl.

That's true, he does have a pretty good head sculpt although the same one is also on the new regular deluxe version so...
