What bothers me is when the team is inconsistent about it. When everyone is calling eachother "Wolverine" or "Cyclops" and then someone shouts out "Jean Gray" and I'm like "motherfucker why don't you yell your social security number while you're at it!".BWprowl wrote:To be fair though, Stewart didn't do any of that; the powers and costume and name were literally assigned to him.Almighty Unicron wrote:If I put the effort into making up a cool name and badass costume for myself I'd want people to call me by my superhero name.
I've always been fine with superheroes on teams calling each other by their real names in-fiction. It communicates a sense of camaraderie, familiarity.

Jean doesn't even have a code name though, so she's screwed on that one.
Well, she had 'Marvel Girl', but outgrew it, apparently.
