Kreon Combiners

Okay, Kre-O wasn't really my thing, and I've never understood the hype Lego Minifigs get in general (I enjoyed Mega Bloks's Halo minifigure line, but that's because those were more substantial, like tiny, fully articulated collectible action figures), but dang if these don't look amusing as hell. Transforming Kreons/minifigures? Predacons?! And at this tiny scale, the rebulding/partsforming is something I can see myself not having a problem with, unlike the chore it was on the full-size Kre-O sets. The fact that a set is going to retail for like eleven bucks certainly doesn't hurt either. I think I'm in, at least for the Predacons (Razorclaw's mane is a little cloth piece!). It does kinda burn that there's only four guys to a set, so Blast-Off and Rampage get left out, but still, pretty nifty looking. Also interested in who the other two of the first four sets are. Normally I'd just guess Aerialbots/Stunticons/Protectobots/Combaticons, but with the Predacons in, that opens up a lot more possibilities.

There's apparently also a line of single transforming Kreons coming out as well, I'll have to see what they are. No clue if they're going to be blind-bagged or what, but they'll be like three bucks, apparently. Not bad.

These are all at least worlds more interesting than Bot Shots.

EDIT: MTV's site seems a little derpy. The article loaded properly once in Opera and now just defaults just the sidebar with the extra links and crap. Still works just fine in Firefox, so yeah.

Neat. Depending on funding...I'm a little tempted, yeah.

Are we as a fandom going to have to stop calling it "Legoforming" and start calling it "Kreoforming"? :D

Those are funny sets, but I can't imagine buying them, the faux-alt modes would grate on my nerves - I'm picky tho. Weren't they doing Vortex as a regular set as well?

Heh, I'm totally for this.

I can see how these wouldn't work for everyone (the big people Kre-O sets weren't my thing either), but the 'funny'-ness you mentioned with these just tickles me in the right way, somehow. They definitely look to be worth eleven bucks in amusement value.

They get hype because they are awesome. They are tiny, simplified renditions of wildly characters, mapped onto a nearly identical body type, with all the key elements that make you identify the character portrayed in a few simple paint operations. Also they have large heads.

The Transformers Kreons are like ActionMasters, but tinier, cuter, and more awesome per ounce.

See, awesome. And adorable. I'd be excited, even if they didn't have a transformation.

I wish there were 5 per set. Leaving someone out just seems rude.

I hope the missing guys end up here. And get to look on at their combined friends, and feel that longing in their heart, knowing they aren't needed. Poor little Blast-off.

These are equally 50/50 Awesome/Weird. Since I love TF Combiners, these are all a must buy. I find it strange the kre-o's themselves will now be able to transform & help form the gestalt mode. I might have preffered everything be built out of the legos/whatever. instead of involving the mini-mates/kreo's

I would have actually preferred generations combiners. either 4 basic sized limbs & one deluxe core leader. or 4 deluxe limbs & one voyager core leader.

Hopefully we get kreo/kreon's combiners & more generations combiners.

These kreo/kreon remind me of & have evolved liked the Hasbro 1990 action masters that couldn't transform into alt mode. then later on UK Hasbro released those action masters that could transform into simplistic/cheap robot modes. then the UK did those action masters elite exo-suits.

Having a missing team member is a major let down.

I actually think this will have the oppossite effect. These kreo/kreon combiners will give the combiners teams the needed exposure they need. hasbro/takara will see via on-line/stores/conventions,fans/buyers getting excited about these kreon combiners. then hasbro will create more combiners in generations,TF Prime & the movie verse.

BTW,These kreon combiners,I think look cute, awesome are slight homages to action masters UK elites & are all must buys for me.

Out of all the forum members we have here on TFViews,I'm curious to see who bought these Kreon combiners & who didn't.

Personally I think they are complete garbage, wrong size class & ugly sculpts,So not thanks. If this is the best Hasbro can for newer G-1 Combiners homage molds---->THEN I PREFER THEY NOT TRY BECAUSE THESE THINGS ARE A WASTE OF FINE PLASTIC.

Their is no way,I feel comfortable spending $9.99 for these G-1 themed Kreon combiners sets. especially consider the gestalt mode is basic sized. Then to make matters worse the 5th combiner team member is sold seperately in a blind pack tiny bag that most USA retail stores don't even carry.

I might feel comfortable paying $5 for each Kreon combiner gift set, when they arrive at the USA discount chains like TJMAXX,Marshalls,ROSS,BIGLOTS,OLLIES & 5 below. These things are bound to arrive at most discount chains in large supply. due to most stores not carrying them or in such low number their hardly their.
