How many members here got a TF toy in 1984 at a store.

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!

Yo. Windcharger, followed pretty quickly by Sideswipe.

I'm generally confused by the purpose of this thread, but considering I didn't exist in 1984, I can safely say I did not.

Scourge, you just have a thing for red cars at the time?

I think I actually bought my first Transformer, which was Brawn, from a fellow middle-schooler. I'm not sure what my first store-bought Transformer was. I remember buying Powerglide at Wilson's 5 and 10c store, so that may have been it. I had little to no money at the time obviously, so most of the Transformers I got were either birthday or Christmas presents, or begged from grandparents, or cheap mini-bots bought with whatever money I could earn or scrounge from doing chores.

He's checking to see who the old fogeys around here are? I dunno, but I'll play along.

Apparently I did, huh? Sideswipe was actually a Christmas present, but still.

Bumblebee, at the TG&Y in Derby, KS. Followed shortly thereafter by Huffer, and his Minispy! I decided the Minispy was named Takara, since that was embossed on his body, and he had no other name. And of course, at the time, I had no idea what a "Takara" was. ;)
I disappear.

I was born the following year, so unfortunately(?) not.

I also inherited all of my older sibling's G1 Transformers, so I didn't *have* to buy my own until G2, and I'd "grown out of TF" by BW, so technically I only ever bought two Transformers in my youth: Hurricane and Pyro.

Nope, I was too young having been born that year. Don't think I got my first Transformers until around 1989, when they introduced the Micromasters.

Gonna hit you with my cane if you keep asking personal questions.

But, yeah, I got a few 1984 figures when the came out. I got the tapes, Windcharger and Bumblebee. (Actually BB might have been in 1985.)

I didn't like TFs as a kid. I got a couple, like Starscream, but I never played with them, and they were usually put in the toybox never to be seen again.

I didn't buy TFs at all until G2, and then just a few.

I didn't REALLY get into them until Beast Wars. Robots that become vehicles? That's kind of cool. Robots that become animals? I AM IN.
